A very generous donation helped get the larger animals a much needed scratching post 🩷 hoping to get another 3 or 4 of these for the shorter and taller friends - this is at a good mutual height for the most part :) they were already trying to use it while I was still installing it

REMINDER: When fishing, please remember to properly dispose of fishing line and old hooks - otherwise, they could injure our local wildlife! Yesterday, this cardinal came to AWLA with an old fish hook stuck in his beak. Our officers were able to remove the hook and send him a licensed wildlife rehabber this afternoon, but other birds and animals might not be so lucky. Didn't have to go far for this storm recovery! This sweet Mourning dove was found in the duck pen struggling to get off the ground.
It is set up for the remainder of the storm in our large bird enclosure with food and water and perches galore.
I think it's mostly happy to be out of that wind though! 🕊
