Kid Safe but not a dead head.

Happy stalled or on constant turnout. Requires extra feed but no other maintenance.
UTD on teeth, dewormer and feet.

Feed: Requires a round bale all winter and soaked cubes/oats twice a day. Also on high fat feed, h**p oil and ground flax.
She is blanketed in colder than -20.

Ayla Paltzat has an opening for an outside horse for July/August and potentially September!
Horses must have a minimum of 90 days under saddle. She specializes in fixing problem behaviour, putting on mountain miles and refining arena skills. Located in Jasper National Park which offers the unique opportunity to take your horse up a mountain one day and to a gymkhana the next. Professionally, she works for Parks Canada running the equine facility for all operational backcountry functions, so is well versed in putting miles on pack/riding horses, introducing water crossings, bridges, hikers, bikers, etc. In her personal time, she is a barrel racer with weekly local jackpots in the vicinity - so can pattern a horse, haul to jackpots, gymkhanas, introduce roping a dummy etc. Happy to discuss references, prices and availability with anyone interested.

2017 mare, Approx 15hh

Well schooled and “fancy broke”, throw a rope off her, hack her out to go check cows or fence, or practice your moves in the arena, this mare does it all. Light and sensitive to all aids - moves off leg well (no spurs required), light in the bridle (snaffle ride) and has a decent understanding of correct contact. Brought along correctly in a professional setting. Good stop, side passes, leg yields, moves shoulders and haunches, turn on the forehand, turn on the haunches. Smart, willing and eager to please. Lots of miles checking fence and pasture, trailing riding and has moved and worked cows.
Intermediate to experienced rider required as she is sensitive, not spooky or stupid by any means but she’s a horse that appreciates some finesse. Finish her any way you want - I feel like she would be pretty happy doing a variety of things. No vices. Good for farrier, vet and nice to be around. Trailers and loads really well. Meets you at the gate. Stands tied for hours, not herd bound or barn sour. She has consistently been the same horse with or without time off.

Full Disclosure:
She does have a blemish on her RF fetlock from a superficial injury that happened as a weanling and it was never properly cared for/dealt with until she came as an almost 3 year old, it had a bunch of proud flesh and I worked on it and it healed up nicely but she does have some superficial scar tissue from the fact that it wasn’t dealt with immediately. On that note: I did get Radiographs done of it just to ensure there were no issues before I listed her/if she would have had issues I would just keep her myself. Our Vet says no issues present on the radiographs and says there is nothing present in the radiographs to suggest there will be. She has never been lame on it or had any issues with it come up over the course of the 2.5 years I have had her. PPE more than welcome at buyer’s expense and radiographs are available to be sent to vets of interested parties.

This is a horse you don’t want to miss out on, good looks, good mind and the useability that makes her worth her weight in gold. These types don’t come around often and if the owner is honest she won’t be mad if she doesn’t sell.
At four years old she has miles and miles on the ranch, checking cows, checking fence, bushwhacking, trail riding, moving pastures, working cows, crossing water, pulling trees off fences, etc.
Shes also fancy in the arena; w/t/l, side pass, turn on the forehand, turn on the haunches, leg yield, soft on the bit, ride her in a halter, started on the barrel pattern.
She’s quick, she’s catty, and she doesn’t set a foot wrong. Ride her every day or give her months off and hop on, take her somewhere new, shes the same horse either way.
Her mind is amazing, she takes everything you throw at her in stride.

I have every confidence that she will make a mount for everyone, including kids, BUT I’m not selling her as a kid’s horse right now as she is only four years old (call me old fashioned but I feel like they need years of experience before you can call them a kids horse). She’s used to dogs, sheep, cows, farm machinery, lead her out the window of your car, lead her off the quad, or the side by side when you’re too lazy to walk back in from the pasture.

Good for the farrier, good for the vet. No maintenance or soundness issues. Is up to date on farrier, teeth and vaccines. Loads and trailers well, not herd bound or barn sour, stands tied for hours. Hobble broke.

Cedric is a 14 yo, 15hh AQHA Gelding
(have his online pedigree but no papers in hand so sells as grade)

He was purchased in 2018 from a young girl who had gymkhana’d/trail ridden and he has been primarily used as both a dude and guide horse in the backcountry since. Has ridden in indoor and outdoor arenas, ditches along busy highway and handles rough terrain/bridges/rockslides well. Good for the farrier, shod or barefoot. Trailers well, will eat and drink on the road. Goes out alone or in a group. Is currently at a refresh of his arena work and is soft and safe. This is the horse you toss your friends who ride once a year on and the husbands. He’s a solid point and go kind of guy.

He does best having a main rider/person so would prefer he go to a single owner rather than other trail business/camp type operation

This guy does it all, chase a cow, enter a jackpot, pony racehorses, obstacle courses, trails… anything you point this guy at - he’ll give it his all.

Handy youth safe, gritty with go but not a prancy idiot, no gate issues will walk into an arena. Has ran 2d times at large jackpots with very little seasoning, ponied a season on track, trail guides, works and moves cattle and is a solid hop on and go type of gelding. Great for the farrier, no soundness issues, no vices/buck/bolt/rear. In your pocket personality but is also picky on his people so will only go to the right fit.

2016 15.1hh (and still growing) OTTB Mare.
This flashy girl is well suited as an eventing prospect but would also excel in the barrel pen or working cattle. She is also handsomely bred and would be a stellar addition to any breeding program!

She has had a year of let down, 30 days with professional reiner JP Forget, general restart and a summer spent trail riding in the mountains.

She is soft, responsive, moves well off leg, will side pass, open gates, will travel on a loose rein and is really working beautifully under saddle. Primarily ridden western and has been exposed to elk, bears, bikers, traffic on the trails, will lead and follow other horses, sits middle of the herd in a group pen.

Has some spook and is occasionally reactive and for that reason she is only being sold to an experienced home - she loves to work and the more consistent you are the better she gets.
