With warmer weather and outdoor adventures, it's crucial to keep our furry friends safe from ticks. These tiny pests can cause big problems, including Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses. Here's how you can protect your pup:

👉🏼 Check Daily: After walks or playtime in grassy or wooded areas, give your dog a thorough check.

👉🏼 Use Your Hands & Eyes: Run your fingers through their fur, feeling for bumps. Pay close attention to warm, hidden spots like behind ears, under collars, between toes, and around the tail.

👉🏼 Part the Fur: Use a comb or your fingers to part their fur and get a closer look at the skin. Ticks can be as small as a pinhead!

👉🏼 Check Yourself Too: Ticks can latch onto you as well. Be sure to check yourself and family members after outdoor activities.

Why It's Important:

👉🏼 Prevent Disease: Ticks can transmit diseases like Lyme disease, which can affect both dogs and humans.

👉🏼 Early Detection: The sooner you find and remove a tick, the lower the risk of disease transmission.

👉🏼 Health & Comfort: Removing ticks promptly can prevent irritation and secondary infections.

If you find a tick:

👉🏼 Use Tweezers: Grasp the tick as close to your dog's skin as possible and pull straight out, without twisting.

👉🏼 Clean the Area: Disinfect the bite site and wash your hands thoroughly.

👉🏼 Monitor: Keep an eye on the bite area and your dog's health. If you notice any signs of illness, contact your vet.

So we get asked why our bone broth is jelly when its thawed vs the watery bone broth people buy from other places and the answer is simple, we make the same for your dogs as we do for our dogs as rich as we can and more for your money. We are here for better health and more nutritious treats for your animals and not to break your bank!

Why does bone broth gel?

The bones you use for broth are rich in connective tissue. Collagen is the primary protein in connective tissue. It is a good source of various amino acids, especially glycine and proline, which support gut health. When you simmer these collagen-rich bones in water for an extended period of time, all those amino acids in the collagen dissolve and reform to make gelatin. As a result, a well-made broth will jiggle and bounce when it cools. And that gelatin will dissolve again when you heat the broth.
