Controversial Topic: Prong Collar
Description Below ⬇️⬇️⬇️
I have heard a lot of the following:
why you use the prong?
It looks cruel
I’m sorry she is using that on you!
Just some of the things I have heard from people who refuse to understand or want to know how they work fixed negative view.
Learn to be open just because you don’t understand, I thought they looked scary too at first. I spent over $400 at the pet store trying everything
1. The flat collar made her puke strangling herself from pulling.
2. Martingale is okay but in overly stimulating moments it’s useless
3. Halti/ gentle leader she pancaked on the ground and wouldn’t move one Canada Day when I was at Main Street,
4. A harness made her raw from her underarms.
5. Slip lead rarely works for her.
I was at my wits end, a friend asked how about try a prong. I also said ohh my! That looks scary, but I needed to do something, before I bought it I YouTubed it and studied the prong from tomdavis America’s Canine Educator. I wanted to do it right, I took time. I did it properly.
I conditioned the tool with treats. 2+ weeks to teach her to have positive association with prong.
1st Step: Let her sniff prong then treat!
2nd Step: Touch her on the face with the prong then treat!
3rd Step: Put it loosely around neck. (DON’T clip it) then take it off, then treat!
4th Step: Put it on (clip it) then take it off, then treat!
5th Step: Teach yield to leash pressure. (Follow me in my direction)
It works for us, I agree they look scary, but if used properly it’s the best tool
For some clients I demonstrate it on my neck, (I don’t have fur) it’s more uncomfortable for me, then a dog.
Learn, be open, try something you havn’t tried, don’t say no unless learning about things.
With my mobility issues. I cannot risk her pulling me over.
It gives us better communication for both of us, there is not a power struggle, we can have a blast just don’t cross my boundaries, th

I took Brooklyn lately to GKOC for touch ups on our obedience and wanted to do some fun activities with Brooklyn instead of going to the gym or yoga. I invited Dan a few times.
He fell in love! He really wanted to start there is a lot of structure and rules with the obedience club Dan just absolutely enjoyed. So I knew he wanted to start. So recently we were talking about a new dog. No one can replace our Tanker Bear! Dan wanted many breeds that were a definite no!! From working with dogs for so many years. But I knew a corgi would be a dog Dan and I could both agree on. So I surprised him! (I have the video, but he doesn’t want it posted) it was a special moment! I accidentally spilled the beens, talking about @tacothecorgi7 and Dan knew right away what dog he was getting! It was a fun time! Excited for our next adventure!

Dog Boarding For The Month
Journey of life is better when traveled with a dog
Lola, Jaxson, Maddy. & Brooklyn
What a fun month it has been. It is coming to an end, but its been a fun one. Biggest thing to learn when you are away from your norm, take it in stride and enjoy the moment. I took time this month and enjoyed the moment! Every second i enjoyed the little things. The goofy lips, the slurpy bulldog drinks. Needing to wear earplugs to bed. (Its almost familiar 😜) The full body cuddles Jaxson Sleeps beside me like a huge dog body pillow. Every moment has been fun! This is why i decide to be away from home for so long. For these dogs. I choose to dedicate my time to spoil your dogs like my dogs when you are away, so you know your dogs are having a great time! Enjoy every moment!

They Passed Their Evaluation!!!!
Description Below ⬇️⬇️⬇️
What a beautiful team I have had a privilege to work with this summer. She was a young lady who had the passion for her dog and to work with him.
She had a goal to have him be a good citizen that did not act like a small dog. She needed him to pass the dorm room evaluation. So he could stay the year with her at school.
Jay put the work in and I saw the want and the drive she had so. I took her on! I was able to teach her new things because she gave me full trust and knew I wouldnt steer her team wrong.
We tried multiple skills in my toolbox. We helped eachother out and learned new things this summer! It was humbling and beautiful to watch her work with her dog. She used different skills I taught her and she used what she felt best that worked for her and her dog. She chose to use the clicker, free shaping method, and balanced training.
Remember to humble yourself and be open and learn from the younger generation, they have some great ideas.
When she got to school Zita was having a bit of trouble with seperation anxiety, because when she was at home they never had to work hard on that issue and he wasn’t displaying that behaviour. New place and new environment can throw a dog off and make a challenging issue. They overcame the seperation anxiety together! She tried a few things and free shaping worked the best for her to show Zita not to worry about being alone! Then I got the Message they passed!!!! Because she became Zitas leader in a certain situation, now Zita is a great leader for her in social situations. That is a Team. #obedience #dog #smalldog #smalldogsoftiktok #smalldogproblems #smalldogattitude #keswick #sutton #genz #pefferlaw #dog #training #freeshaping
