Encognito is currently being reassessed for travel. After an unexpected colic episode, Saturday the 30th he was declared unfit to travel. Enzo’s state was touch and go throughout the weekend, fortunately our fighter pulled through. Onto another week of careful monitoring. He will likely be coming home today. Please keep Enzo & Alicia in your thoughts today as he makes the long trek back home!

We’re incredibly excited to welcome Bri Johnson to McBrien Stables, October 22nd!

This dressage clinic had 10 available lesson spots, they have all been recently filled! Fortunately, we will be offering spectator admissions! Spectators for the afternoon will be charged an entry fee of $10, this includes their admission as well as lunch + baked treats throughout the event!

Bri having worked with Enzo & Alicia in the past has kindly offered to donate a percentage of the proceeds from this clinic to our fundraiser for Enzo’s emergency medical services.

Come out and enjoy a wonderful teacher and some delicious food, all for a good cause!

Encognito, lovingly known to his community as Enzo. Is a 6 year old, Hanoverian Stallion just starting his competitive sport career.

Enzo is currently out of province at St. Hyacinths Equine Hospital, fighting a critical case of Potomac Horse Fever. After arriving at Wesley Clover Parks to compete in the Ottawa National, Enzo started developing worrying symptoms, which continued worsening throughout the week. Emergency veterinary care was sought out as soon as his symptoms appeared. His owner, trainer and rider, Alicia Bateman, keeps a close on eye on her boy. She knew instantly that something was off. Alicia, a recent nursing school graduate is absolutely devastated. Not only is her equine partner gravely ill but the emergency medical services are expected to exceed $4,000-$10,000.

With nursing school loans as well as just getting back to work after suffering a serious back injury, the medical bills will be quite a challenge for Alicia to handle without support.

McBrien Stables, Enzo’s home-base is planning a Fall Fair Fundraiser to help support his safe return home. The date to mark your calendar with is Saturday, October 14th.
All proceeds will be put towards the emergency medical bills.

Poppins is being offered for an in barn full or part lease. Poppins is a 15.1hh thoroughbred mare. We’re looking for a quiet intermediate/advanced rider. Poppins goes consistently at the walk, trot, and canter. With some lateral movements. She is a forward ride. Currently schooling lower courses due to her fitness level, but with time and muscle could step into the ring at a 1.10M with ease. Lovely personality, very willing horse with tons of heart. Has show experience on the silver circuit in the .90 and 1M jumpers. Weekly lessons with an approved coach is required.

During the months of March & April, McBrien Stables will be offering ship in opportunities Saturday & Sunday.

In addition to our beautiful arena a fully built hunter and/or jumper course will be set to use.

Things to note:
- Each weekend there will be a course change.
- Ship ins are not allowed to modify or change the course in anyway.

Skye is being offered for an in barn part-lease. Skye is a 14.3” hh Appaloosa mare. She goes walk, trot, canter with some lateral movements and has been started over fences. Due to physical restrictions, her jumping is kept to 2’3 or lower. Skye can be ‘pushy’ on the ground, so we are looking for someone who is able to appropriately respond to these behaviours. Weekly lessons required.

He is a 6 year old, 16.hh DHH gelding. He is currently being offered as a green lease. Benny goes consistently at the walk & trot & is working on refining his canter. He has been lightly started over fences.
Benny’s ideal leaser is an intermediate rider who is patient & willing to take regular lessons. Having come from a less than ideal situation, Benny can be mistrustful & slightly reactive when he does not feel confident. His ideal leaser will understand how to approach this without a punitive approach. He is, however, very in your pocket and willing to learn!

McBrien Stables will be hosting an equine health and therapy clinic, involving BEMER and Equi-Salt sessions, November 13th, 2022.

Price for both the BEMER session and the Equi-salt is $125.00 together. Each session is 15 minutes.

McBrien’s Stables is pleased to offer ship in arena rentals. Two large indoor arenas available with a mix of sand and micro rubber footing to protect and cushion your equine friend’s legs. Any discipline welcome! Jumps and barrels on site for your use. Arenas freshly dragged before clients. Ship in schooling available weekdays + weekends til 4:30 pm — $40 per horse and rider. Boarding

McBrien’s is pleased to announce the availability of a stall for indoor boarding! Our wonderful facility boasts a heated main barn and tack room, heated wash stalls with hot and cold water, bright and airy boarders barn complete with rubber matted 12x12 boxed stalls, TWO large indoor riding arenas, outdoor sand ring, expansive trails, and galloping track. Horses are cared for with love and attention to detail, with equivibe and FIR wave heated solarium to pamper your equine friend. Multi disciple barn is open to boarders with any interest, friendly atmosphere, and team approach to ensure your horse receives the best care possible.

Lessons and on site training board is also available, problem horses, re-start, and unbroke horses welcome.

Gator - medium pony gelding. Walk trot canter and jumps 2’3”. Lots of show miles. 1/2 lease only at this time.

Hudson - 15.2 H quarter horse gelding. Walk trot canter and jumps cross rails. Suitable for intermediate riders and up. Full or half lease available.
