The choice to euthanize a dog due to behaviour has wide-reaching impacts - from trainers to vets, shelter workers and fosters, to family, friends and neighbours. Behavioural euthanasia leaves a lasting impact on all involved, and the stigma surrounding behavioural euthanasia often means those affected have limited support. Losing Lulu is a grief support group for those who have been involved with a behavioural euthanasia decision, including owners, trainers, volunteers, veterinary staff and shelter workers. We are currently in the planning stages for our first ever Losing Lulu Summit!

The Summit will be hosted online by The Dog Trainer's Crucible, starting on April 19th, 2026. Right now, we are gathering a list of possible presenters. We are looking for people who have experience in grief counselling, behaviour consulting, training, the veterinary industry, from sheltering, and from those who have great ideas for memorials (for any species of animal).

We are planning that all the presentations will be pre-recorded (this is so that we don't have any issues with internet connections dying in the middle of the presentation) as lectures, powerpoints or interviews. During the presentation, we offer the presenters the opportunity to join the conversation in the chat if they wish.
