🚨 Attention Pet parents who are planning a trip to the U.S. with their furry companions this summer ‼️
Please Read 😊
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has updated their travel rules for dogs entering the USA via air, land or sea, effective August 1, 2024, and we don’t want it to affect your plans.
It important to make sure you’re up-to-date on the new regulations before you leave!
These new requirements include (but are not limited to):
💉 Health Certificates: Dogs must have a valid Rabies Vaccination Certificate
⏰ Vaccination Timing: The rabies vaccine must be administered at least 30 days before arrival.
🐶 Puppies: Pets younger than 6 months are not eligible for entry
💊 Microchipping: Dogs must be microchipped before arrival. Ensure your dog’s microchip details are updated and match the vaccination records. This MUST be done prior to rabies vaccine and be on all paperwork.
📝 Import Permits: A CDC import permit is required
👩🏻⚕️ Health Check: A veterinarian must examine the dog within 30 days of travel to certify they are healthy and fit for travel
🧳 History: Have a documented medical/vaccine history available for the previous 6 months & have these documents endorsed by a CFIA Veterinarian within 30 days of entry into the U.S
🚌 Arrival: Dogs must appear healthy upon arrival, or they may be required to undergo isolation, veterinary examinations and additional testing, at the importer’s expense, to determine if the dog has a contagious disease.
