Outside Stimulus & Focus

Let me guess, your horse is great in the arena but is a bit fresh outside? It's difficult to manage the difference in reactions from what you're used to. It is for your horse too! It seems extreme right?... all of a sudden they're spooking at everything and can't focus. Horses running in the pasture, yours thinks they should join! Of course they do! They're herd animals. They look for comfort in numbers and follow the 'flight' because that's their nature. I promise they aren't being bad they're just doing what they know. When we manage their environment so much, they too get overstimulated.

Hugo here is the best student. We've been playing alot online, outside, in the wind, dragging tarps and helping him find relaxation even under heavy stimulus. Brain sweat is just as, if not more important than physical sweat. We started snorting and tail up to blinking, chewing and focused on the same games we always play with inside, outside. Good Boy Hugo.
