Although Aurora makes this exercise look easy, weave poles take a lot of coordination, core strength and focus. Weave poles are typically introduced after a solid foundational program has been completed.

After being hit by a car, dislocating a hip and undergoing an FHO procedure, Tarzan was hesitant to use his surgical limb. Can you really blame the guy? ❤️🩹

Buddy has a torn cruciate ligament on the right hind limb. Given his age and other medical issues his owners opted for a conservative management trial before exploring the surgical route 🚨 When a dog isn’t using a limb, for whatever reason, muscle loss or atrophy is always a concern. Muscle loss can lead to bone density loss, which can lead to many other possible issues 🤕 At this depth, the buoyancy of the water takes 50-60% of Buddy’s weight off of him; allowing him to exercise in a safe and controlled environment, taking pressure off of the knee joint and strengthening the limb as his muscles have to work harder to push through the resistance of the water with every step 💦💪 Even though they often seem unphased hopping along on three legs, there is almost always a level of pain or discomfort. Pain should always be addressed first! Talk to your veterinarian or rehab practitioner to get your pet on the best path to health 🙂

Casper is standing tall and proud 🤩
When Casper first started to stand after his injury he would only be able to do so for short periods of time and his head hung low for a couple of weeks.
Fast forward to 3 weeks after our initial visit and 5 laser therapy treatments later, Casper is getting back to normal alpaca activities including a gradual reintroduction to his friends after being on stall rest 🙌
