In light of recent events, let's chat.

It's important to teach your child that dogs are living beings with emotions too. A dog cannot communicate in the way a human can.

Dogs communicate discomfort through stiff body language, whale eyes, freezing, lip licking, pinned ears, low growls, and more. Ignoring these signs often results in the dog feeling the need to snap or bite to make this point.. A child may not be able to pick up these signs which is why the adult of the situation should always be supervising.

Sneaking up on the dog when it's sleeping or eating, stealing from it or constantly jumping on will create a sense of insecurity in the dog. Yanking on it, pestering and more will create annoyance.

All it takes is 1 bad day and the child will be hurt and your family pet won't know what they did wrong.

Let's say you and your partner saved up and worked really hard to go to this expensive and fancy restaurant. Every time you go to take a bite of that 100$ meal in front of you, a child runs up and snatches it.

Or,

You just worked months of overtime, saved up every dime so you could go to this luxury 5 star resort. You can't wait to go to bed after plane rides, taxi's and all the things. You finally get cozy when a child from down the hall starts screaming and banging on your door.

Or,

You're at the movie theater just trying to enjoy your time, when the kid behind you is pulling your hair and kicking your seat and the kid beside you is climbing all over you to the point of spilling your popcorn and kicking that drink.

You'd probably be wondering where their parents are and demanding they control their kids. You'd be furious and feel like the kids have no respect.

You would finally understand your dog every time your child pestered it.

If you want a healthy relationship with your dog,
If you want your dog to feel safe around your child,
TEACH BOUNDARIES.

This includes running up to pet strange dogs in public.
Always ask first.

As we dive into the Holidays such as Bisou here, we want to address one thing-

We do NOT condone puppies as surprise gifts.

Consenting adults need to have expressed the desire for a dog and have the ability to support it. As well as research into the breed. This needs to be a pre decided, mutual agreement. Yes, we'll support surprising them early but we need to know that our puppy is going into a home that's ready and prepared to support them for life.

Sure if you want to surprise your kids go for it, but our screening and expectations remain the same.

This isn't a whim.
This isn't a gift people can toss away.
This is a life commitment.

Some breeders will actually refuse to place dogs around Christmas due to this. Others, such as ourselves, will be taking extra precautions to ensure the well-being of our dogs.

Thank you all for understanding if we push for more information than usual during the holiday times.

Olive, Shrimp, Onion and Pineapple are still hanging around.

They'll be 6 months on the 29th and able to get vaccinated to cross the border if there are any USA adventures that they could join in on.

🫒Olive is CO-OWN only.

🦐Shrimp would prefer to remain local-ish (northern Washington is considered "local").

🍍 Pineapple IS crate trained, potty trained and has basic manners.

🧅 Onion ready for that next adventure and eager to learn new things.

Please note that EVERYONE must go through the puppy application process. This is not optional. There is an available PDF version to download if there are questions you don't want to answer and the site won't let you skip..

This helps us ensure our puppies are going to safe and well matched environments.
