Foster Parent For a Local Cat Rescue I am a foster of cats and kittens for the local animal rescue Heavenly Hills Animal Sanctuary.
I’ve been fostering with HH for over a year now and absolutely love it.
Introducing for the first time our named babies and mama.
They are 5 weeks old now. They are eating wet and dry food and are perfectly litter trained. Good job thanks to mama.
Mama sniffed my hand for the first time today and although she is feral she allows me to do what’s needed to keep her room stocked and cleaned.
Babies are playing and exploring and getting so big. 💕
The babies let me know they are hungry and ready to start eating food. 💕
Nothing cuter than watching mama play with her babies on the camera. 💕
Mamas babies are growing fast. They are starting to play now.
Mama still isn’t too interested in humans. She is however a great mom!
Can’t wait for these beans to grow more and watch their little personalities blossom. 💕
Abby gave the five babies a bath today! They’ve gotten even bigger 💕

Baby Vince is the master of cuteness.
Some big news coming his way.
Being a singleton is always tough on these little guys and he is no exception.
He eats great and is thriving. But is starting to get rough and have behaviours I call Singleton Syndrome. It’s from a lack of socializing with litter mates.
So how do we fix this you ask?
Well…..
We had a litter of 7 come in around the same age. And after much consideration Baby V is going to head to that fosters home and join that litter! Seven little siblings for him to cuddle and love. I know that he will continue to thrive and that this is the best decision for him. And if it doesn’t work out there for him, he will always have a spot here 💕
Abby’s crew of 5 like to suckle on each others genitalia which can be very dangerous for them. So we are trying our best to come up with ways to prevent it. So yeasterday I whipped up these onesies. They are master escape artists. 💕
Big news for Mama W today.
After initially rejecting her litter mama has accepted her babies and is taking care of them!! What a relief! I was really worried for 24hrs.
She came out of her hideaway yesterday for a good hour but then I heard a baby cry and back in she went back in.
Proud of this mama! 💕
Mama W wasn’t mom’ ing very well. She chose a new hiding spot so this morning I brought her children to her and I’m keeping a close eye on the camera. Mama is more active at night. I will continue to monitor and update when I can.
Our singleton Vince has already grown so much. He’s mastered eating and loves cuddles 💕
Mama W and her crew of 5 are still getting settled in. Mom is very nervous in her new space. Glad these newborns are safe and warm. And fingers crossed mama is a softie. 💕
A lot has happened in the last week. These five beans are actually with Abby and have been for a few days now. That allowed me to spend the time on the more critical three that came into care. It is with a heavy heart that I announce that those little beans didn’t make it. Unfortunately they had issues that were not correctable at their age and despite being little fighters the call was made to do what was right for the babies and humanely say goodbye.
Yesterday I took in another little orphan baby. And this morning recieved a message about a mom and babies living on the street right now. So I’m currently getting my kitten room set up for mama and her five babies. And bottle feeding the little singleton.

Ended up with a quick little visit from this little one. After some conversation with a wildlife rescue I put him in a safe area where he will hopefully find some food and shelter 💕
Oh my heart ❤️. Mama Oreo is heading back to her farm. She is spayed and will be reunited with her farm family. She’s a cute and salty girl. Gonna miss her. (Even if she never really liked us. lol) I like to think she did. She never scratched me. Or bit me. She’s smart and not cooperative and definitely feral but not aggressive unless you make her agressive if that makes sense. I am happy she gets to start the journey of the rest of her life. 💕

Guess who’s ready for adoption?
We have four girls and two boys looking for their forever homes.
This litter grew up with a mom (feral) who had no problem putting me in my place but also suffered from lactation problems probably due to her young age. So the babies had a mix of mamas milk and assistance from me and Abby with feeds. Snow and Feather were hand raised by Abby and then later reunited when they ate on their own. These kitties have not had experience with kids or had exposure to other kittens.
Let me tell you a little bit about each kitty.
Tilly is a spunky tabby/cali. Very similar looking to mama. She loves to chase and climb the cat tree and is the first in my lap at dinner time. She may be nervous at first but settles and loves attention and playing.
Thor is my funny guy. Probably the most nervous of the kitties. He was a mamas boy and for the first month really didn’t want nothing to do with me. Now he loves cuddles and scratches. Just got to take new things slow with him. His hair will grow back. A symptom of mom’s nutrition deficiency. He will look similar to Talia with a longer coat.
Snow Power is the sweetest girl. She wants to be with her people all the time and would do well in a home where her people are home more than not. Unless she had playmates. She loves ball towers and food! She gives the best kisses.
J Feather is a sweet tabby girl with a spunky personality. She is also an in your face lover. Who also gives kisses. She also has a fascination with feet. She loves to be as close as possible at all times and enjoys her supervisor position that she’s given yourself and anything you do from litter to feeding will be done with her ‘help’.
Theo is also a mamas boy. He was the first one to hiss at me like his mama. On a good note the hissing stopped and he’s slowly but surely starting to come out of his shell. He loves chasing feathers and ball towers. He was the first kitty to master climbing the cat tree. At 3 weeks old. Gave me a heart attack the first time but showed all his siblings how to climb. He’s an independent little boy.
Talia is my little hairball girl. She is nervous at first but so sweet. She likes to sit back and watch and then will pounce and join in. Her favourite spot is a basket with soft blankets in it and the scratching post. She also likes feet. And toes.
With these kittens the adjustment time may be a few days. Mom is not able to tolerate being handled or seen. So I’ve really had to adjust how I foster them to ensure that mama didn’t abandon them because of me having to intervene.
All kitties have a clean bill of health. And come with their first round of vaccines and have been spayed/neutered and wormed/defleaed.

Theo is a curious little boy. He was definitely a mamas boy growing up. He’s cautious but curious.
Tori is a silly little one. She has a medium length coat. She has thrived since she was little. She likes to play and climb.
Tilly is the brave one. She was the first to try everything. Wet food. Litter box. She loves to run around and treats.
Thor is quite the little love bug. He has some unexplained hair loss around his neck and body. He also has the medium length hair. And the hair loss will be addressed by the vet. Thor and Talia have similar coats believe it or not.
Talia was one of our surprise girls. She is the most cautious of the group and would probably thrive better in a more quiet home. She also has a medium length coat.
Snow Power is one of the two girls that were hand raised by Abby until they were eating on their own. She loves to be cuddled and sang to. She also gives the best kisses.
J Feather our other surprise girl who was also hand raised by Abby is full of sweetness. She loves to be snuggled by your face and is the sweetest bean.
Their vet appt is on May 22. Once they are home from the appt I will post contact information for how to apply to adopt them. 💕
Poor little scruffy guy looks a little sad. But he’s such a happy boy.
These 7 babies will be being vetted on May 22 and will be available for adoption after that.

Deep cleaned the kitten room today. Mom wasn’t happy but laid in the cat bed the entire time. Through vacuuming and carpet cleaning. Carpets and kittens don’t mix well. Luckily I have good cleaners. 💕
The little ones are officially a month old yesterday. They are doing good. Babies are transitioning to eating on their own. No more tube feeds. They started chewing the tube which can be dangerous for aspiration. So instead we are syringe feeding slop (royal canin kitten soft food and kmr) and they are loving it. We officially had our first bowl licker today! Once the babies are eating on their own they will grow so quickly. Babies have been treated but I’m still unable to treat mom. Which could pose issues with having to retreat the babies. But I’m working on getting a topical treatment/water additive that I may actually be able to get on her. 💕
It’s a bittersweet day. Little tabby boy is all better and gets to go back to foster Abby and be reunited with his sister. He’s an eating champ. Babies with Mama Oreo got their first meat slushy today. Meat shakes and all. Time for these babies to have a litter box as well. They grow up so quickly! 💕

After three very stressful days everything has settled here. I’ve made the decision to pull two babies to lighten mom’s load. She will still have five kittens. Two are heading over to spend some time with Abby. All the little ones are doing great💕
I hate posting the struggles of fostering but here goes. Three days ago I randomly had a kitten showing fading kitten symptoms. Kitten bounced back after 4 hours. No prior signs. Everyone gaining weight well and no signs of being sick on any level. The following day, randomly a second kitten had these symptoms but was a lot less responsive. I did critical care for 8hrs and felt defeated. When I woke up 5hrs later the kitten was meowing at me and I returned the babe to mama and the rest of the litter. Yesterday a third kitten crashed. Kitten recovered in four hours and this is her today. I do not know what is going on. I have added more aggressive treatments even though I have no idea what this is as kittens and mama do not appear sick. Are pink and warm when they crash. And have gained weight well the entire time being here. So I’ve added in tube feedings multiple times a day to ensure that I know it’s not a milk issue. Which there aren’t signs of this as that would be reflected in their weight. I’ve also wormed them. Just as a preventative. Babies and mama are good today. This mama is tired. But I’ll keep fighting this battle for as long as it goes on. 💕

Mama Oreo has settled in nicely. Her babies are doing good. They are getting top ups to help weight gain and seem healthy and active. 💕
Mama Oreo has been so nervous but so loving and sweet. She was really depending on her hideaway hole. So I did a thing last night and removed the hole. The babies were too hot. It was a tiny space. And today she’s in the bed with her babies with no hiding. Which is huge. Lots of patience with this one. 💕
These guys are thriving. We have 5 little girls and 2 little boys! 💕

Kitty Update…. All four of my S babies have continued to thrive and do amazing. They have a vet appt this week to be spayed/neutered. And will be available for adoption after. I will post the information on how to adopt them when they are ready to be adopted. Stay tuned!
