For Adoption - Salem ✨
1-2 Year old Male Axolotl , Wild Type

Health: Good health, quite content. Growing his gills back at a great rate. No illness or infections.

Personality: This little guy is all SMILES!! He’s extremely content and easy to care for. His personality is relaxed and he enjoys spending most of his day on the bottom of the tank. His favourite place is his flower pot/bed as it provides shelter and cover from the lights!

Cute Fact: this sweetheart has 6 fingers on one hand and 4 on the other. He also smiles!

Must Have Needs:
- a 40 gallon tank that is CYCLED for axolotl (I can possible provide filter media to help get you going)
- a quiet, dark space that you can keep his water cold easily.
-60f or as close to as possible consistently
- no water changes without water conditioner
- NO FRIENDS unless it’s a considerably sized tank

If interested, please feel free to message the page. Salem is located in London, Ontario, Canada and we’d prefer to sell him locally. Travel is just extra stress on the babes. Thank you!

Water change day!

All the axolotls are doing fantastic at the new house. We haven’t had an issues with the water and also find it easier to keep them consistently around 60F!

Cheetos tank went through a clean and refresh! We added a cool log bridge for him to climb and the boys in the other tank also got a branch type piece. They’re all very comfortable, very healthy and happy. These guys mean the world . So crazy to think that both Sushi (formerly called Suki) and Salem would have probably died had we not taken them in. Their gills are improving so drastically and it makes us so happy. Our boys ❤️

Have any questions? Trying to get your tank cycled for an axolotl?

In our free time, we try to assist other owners and potential homes to best prepare for our little guys. These are exotic animals that require a very particular environment to thrive in. We do our best to help with any concerns you may have and can even help with setting up your tank!

We are always looking for supply donations to help support our mission of rehabilitating axolotls. If you are able to support their care, we have an Amazon wish list of what we need most and frequently have to buy more of. Thank you so kindly

(Photo of Suki) These curious lil angels have made such incredible progress since they came to us almost a week ago. They weren’t in the worst shape but not ideal health either. Both males were housed together until they got here, which resulted in both axolotls missing their gill stalks. Unfortunately, just the swimming motion can be enough to lead the other to think it is food. They don’t have the greatest eyesight and will mistake movement for food in the water. This has only been an issue I’ve noticed when they are housed together. All of our axolotls have separate tanks and thrive this way. After a week of a controlled environment, some good feedings and being separated- both axolotls are healing remarkably fast! Their stress levels immediately fell once they got their own tanks and no longer felt nervous near each other. In this photo, you can see how Suki is doing with growing his gills! We’re so impressed 💕 Salem is doing just as well and also has lil hairs growing back. Can’t wait to see them in their forever homes

Upon their arrival, we noticed both Suki & Salem were both quite small. We gave them a nice worm snack before moving into their respective tanks. They’ve both been looking so much better since adjusting to their tanks!

First two rescues came to us last Sunday! Meet our newest babes - both male - Suki & Salem 💕

These angels came to us from out of town. Their lovely owner was struggling to care for them and asked for some help. We took these guys on and now have them in our care!

You might notice, their gills will need some time to regrow but otherwise - these guys are still in fair shape. They looked a bit malnourished when we got them but they are improving greatly each day! These cuties are already showing their fun, playful personalities.

We’ll post more updates on them as they’ll both need homes soon! We will have a small adoption fee in place to help with the cost of care while they’ve been with us. It’s a full time job taking care of these lil ones but it’s amazing.

We can always use help with supplies, especially since we have these new additions! They all have their own tanks but we can definitely use a bigger tank and some more care items (filters, water conditioner, etc)

Meet Cheeto ✨ the inspiration behind rehabilitating and rehoming axolotls in need.

We got our babe Cheeto from out of town back in October. He came from a home where he was kept in a shallow and small Tupperware container 😞 When we first got to see him, we noticed the bright lights over him in the hallway and the tiny home he was kept in. He was fairly skinny and still quite small for his age.

A few months later, here we are. Cheeto was immediately transferred into a cycled 30 gallon tank that he has called home since. We’ve kept a ruler near the tank to be able to take size measurements every once in awhile. Our lil guy has grown from roughly a couple inches big to almost 8 inches long in just mere months. He is healthy, happy and thriving. He is the inspiration behind taking in other axolotls and educating future owners to the best of our abilities.
