Our community keeps us going and we want to shout them out ~

This week we’re shouting out Urban Roots London! They’re doing incredible (!!!) work on making London a more food sovereign city and have been such solid partners with our ORCHARD Program as well as our free community pop-up markets 💚

The future of food is not just a question of agriculture. It’s a question of connection. Connection to the people who grow our food, the land it comes from, and the communities it nourishes.

We’re grateful to be surrounded by organizations working to build these ties!

Our Self Employment Education & Development Program is a FREE program focused to train & assist participants in successfully developing a business plan for their start up, existing business or idea.

We focus on your individual & entrepreneurial growth over 12 weeks, as we work together to understand you and your needs.

Type Diabeat-It started as a response to the rising rates of diabetes in BPOC communities. It’s grown into a vibrant community space where culturally relevant foods are grown and shared, and where food literacy is rooted in culture and care. We’re so lucky to partner with them and learn from their team!

Bee balm! The bees love it and so do we. We’re harvesting just a little for our office stash, and leaving the rest for our pollinator friends. Both the leaves and flowers make a lovely tea, and can be used as a wild replacement for oregano. Fun fact!

We’ll be at New Moon Community Homestead this Friday for the first Farm Gate Friday of the year! Come learn a bit about us, and a lot about the magic of this place that keeps pulling us back. Tomorrow we will be one of many coming together to kick off the London Cares Curb Hunger campaign at our very own Cavendish Community Food Hub. This annual campaign helps raise awareness about the London Food Bank and the ongoing need for support especially during the summer months when donations slow down but demand continues.

From May 28 to June 8, you can help by:
🥕 Planting a row, growing a row & sharing your row of fresh food donations with the food bank!
🥫 Donating non-perishables at any participating grocery store across the city or firehall.
🌱 Signing up to adopt a plot.
🫶🏼 Donating online.
💛 Volunteering your time at the Food Bank!
