"I'm at Kelley square pizza waiting for my pizza to cook, and this little crippled old guy comes in. He's leaning on this makeshift cane and wearing two coats. His hands are trembling and he's wondering who is managing. The man behind the counter replies, and without hesitation tell the other kid to stop cleaning ( they close at 130) The elderly man asks if there's anything that would be thrown out he could buy cheap. The manager then tells the kid to make this man whatever he wants. I just want everyone to know that during these tough and crazy times when others in the world are out to hurt and kill, there's still a lot of good. There's a lot of great. Start with yourselves. Open a door, pay for a coffee, pass on some food, donate to something, thank a vet, and hang out with the elderly. Anything."

VELMA - ADOPTED

My name is Velma and I am very much like my brother Scooby. I am a 1 year (ish) old Doodle mix (either Bernedoodle or Giant Schnauzer x Poodle) so if my bio sounds similar to his that would be why. I was dumped along with my 2 brothers. I am a medium sized girl weighing around 50lbs but I am still growing a bit. I am going to need regular grooming every day and of course I am going to need to visit a groomer every once in a while with my wirey but soft fur I am great in the bath though and had so much fun visiting petvalu for their self serve dog wash. Just because I am mixed with a poodle also does not mean I am hypoallergenic - so please do not apply thinking that I am.

I am great with all other dogs. I am currently living with other dog friends but none of them want to play with me. I would love if I had friends I could play with in my new home. I would be fine with cats as long as I am introduced properly as I am living with some and don’t seem to care about them or the bunnies, however I am never left unattended with the bunnies for safety purposes of course, and I would also be fine with older kids who are dog savvy and understand that I may take a moment to warm up to them and may jump up on them.

I enjoy going on car rides and am learning to not be nervous about them. I am good on my leash and am fairly quiet and medium energy. I am house trained but am not always sure how to ask so I will just need my family to keep me on a schedule kinda and watch my water intake to ensure I do not have any accidents. I am good in my crate when I am by myself but can be a bit bored at times so I am going to need something to do in there if I am in there for a longer period of time. I love when I get to cuddle on the couch with my foster mom getting all the pets and love.

If you think that you would be the perfect home for me please fill out the application on the website!

Please be sure to read all the details before applying.

https://scaarontario.weebly.com/adoption-application.html

An adoption fee applies for me, $500. I have been spayed, vaccinated with my age appropriate vaccinations, been dewormed, been given flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and will come with 30 days of free pet insurance as well as my health certificate.

www.hopeforwildlife/support

Hope for Wildlife has changed a lot in the 27 years we have been helping wildlife. And every step of the way, we couldn't have done it without the compassionate and generous support of our communities near and far. We are all together in this mission to help co-exist with nature and to reconnect people to wildlife.

We change because the world changes. Every year, the challenge gets a little more complicated, but the need always remains the same: the wildlife needs our help.

Quarantine procedures are the standard for any wildlife rehab, but we no longer just deal with local outbreaks of viruses. We need to deal with global outbreaks. The H5N1 HPAI virus has caused an unprecedented global outbreak in its size and duration, and we need to upgrade to keep up with it and future environmental impacts.

Rehabs are on the front lines, often being the first to see new things cropping up in the environment. Our experts collect data every single day about the health of our wildlife and our environment. Our quarantine procedures are a huge part of that.

Please take a moment to read our flyer, and then share it - spread the Giving Tuesday word.

Because they matter.
