The Odds R Even “Luke” is looking for his next perfect home!
10 year old, grey, ottb gelding. Came off the track 3 years ago and was bought by his current owner 2 years ago.
Up to date on vaccines and teeth. Sound barefoot with good feet. Very well mannered for the farrier. No maintenance, clips, baths, loads. Not spooky. Kick ride. Adult/Amateur friendly. They don’t get much quieter or well mannered then this guy. He is an absolute pleasure to have in the barn. Still green but so simple and easy. His owner has loved and enjoyed him but a young busy family leaves less hours for saddle time.

Good Equines ‘Da Capo’ and Sidygin Stables’ ‘Grassmere’ attended RMWF last week and produced many consistent rounds and placings in the hunter ring.
Proud of both horses throughout the marathon that is fair. Da Capo moved up a height division without issue and Grassmere continued to be his reliable handsome self.

Special thanks to Jessi Good for her grooming/coaching help, and also for making sure there was a constant supply of carrots for the boys ringside 🥕

As well as me and the boys ottb besties Arielle and Buffy, thanks for making the week so much better. Having friends like this is part of the reason I love this sport so much.

I’d also like to thank those in our amazing circle of friends and family as well as our horse community for their support not only while in the ring but also while we dealt with not having a truck for the majority of the week after the drive shaft was stolen from it our second night in Brandon (I wish I was joking). Those that didn’t even hesitate to come and rescue us from the hotel at 6 am so we could make sure I got to the show, and those who offered us they’re vehicles and also spots on the trailer to ensure we could commute and then get home. The generosity I experienced throughout the week truly made my heart swell ❤️

Thanks for capturing so many amazing photos throughout the week.

I’ve rested up and look forward to getting back to work. Many training horses and students starting up this month getting ready for the upcoming outdoor/summer season and I am so excited!!!!

Day 1 complete!

I am very excited for the opportunity to be able to go through the 2023 spring cohort for the NCCP coaching certification in partnership with Alberta Equestrian!
This opportunity was brought to my attention last minute before the application deadline and luckily I was able to get all my pre-requisites in order on time and was accepted into this awesome program. Looking forward to getting to interact with some up and coming coaches outside of Manitoba (and a few in) and hopefully 🤞🏼 being certified come July!

For those of you who don’t know, coaches are now required to be Licensed through Equine Canada come July. For many of us, this means we need to go through the NCCP certification process before we can apply to be licensed. The certification process is a lengthy series of evaluations based on your lesson giving and teaching abilities to a certain standard. On top of that, in order to be able to be certified you also have to go through the process of gaining your Rider level 6 or 8, which is also an evaluation process you go through but this one is based on your riding and horsemanship skills.

This provides your coach with many valuable skills and lots of knowledge, but is a very lengthy process and requires a lot of time and costs to get there.
There will be Lots of work put in behind the scenes by lots of coaches with the new requirements being implemented. It will allow our sport to meet higher standards in and out of the show ring and I’m looking forward to getting myself certified and well educated while beginning and continuing my coaching career.

Don’t be afraid to thank your coach a little extra this year if they are going through the process of getting this done. It’s not an easy or short process.

Here’s to me dedicating 2023 to being the year of getting shi* done!

A long winter of ‘embracing’ the elements training outdoors without an arena, all made worth it after a fantastic week at Royal Manitoba Winter Fair with these three. Incredibly proud of the work these horses put in proving that consistency is key and that thoroughbreds can hold their own against the warmbloods 💪🏼
Thanks to Jessi and everyone else that helped and stopped by through out the week to make it run smoothly and be a ton of fun as well.
Looking forward to a short break before we start prepping for the outdoor season!

Lots of upgrades happening around here and I’m most excited about this one! Something that’s been on my wish list for a while now, but never thought I’d actually get a chance to own one. I can’t wait to start incorporating this into the horses programs and seeing what the results are like!

What an awesome two weeks competing at Marcy Schweizer Memorial Derby and Heart of the Continent.

‘Da Capo’ competed consistently all week in the open 2’3 and 2’6 divisions ending the week off with a 6th place finish in both the 2’3 and 2’6 Hunter special classes.

‘Little Big Sky’ played in the .75 jumpers and 2’6 hunters at the beginning of the week and then moved up to the .85 jumpers for Heart and handled the move up well with very consistent rounds.

‘Grassmere’ competed in the open 3’ and development divisions with consistent rounds ending the week of with a 6th place finish in the Hunter Classic and a win in the 3’3 Hunter special.

Also a shoutout to student Lexi Dobson and her horse Expect Greatness on their fantastic first show together. Couldn’t be more proud on how this relatively new partnership did over the weekend and how much improvement was made in just three days. Can’t wait to keep working with this team 🥰

After what feels like and was, a very slow start to spring training I couldn’t be happier with how this group stepped into the ring ready to learn and compete. Onto the second half of summer!

Properly introducing Good Equines first homebred “Wren”. Show name still to be decided.

A gorgeous bay filly sired by Oxford out of my thoroughbred mare, Fancy.

Incredibly excited about this spicy little one. Plenty of updates to come as we watch her grow 🥰

As 2021 comes to an end, I’d like to say a big thank you to those that have been apart of it.
This year was full of many laughs as well as many tears as I continued to work toward achieving some goals both personally and professionally.
Top highlights from this year include:
- officially starting my business GoodEquine
-watching the new farm continue to develop and become more and more of a paradise I’m so lucky to work at
-found a few fantastic homes for some sales horses
-welcomed ottb Connor onto the team
-got back into the jumper ring for the first time since Fancy was semi-retired in 2019
-completed another successful show season with a team I am incredibly proud to work with
-started coaching and found a whole other level of love I didn’t know I could have for this industry
-bred Fancy and am incredibly excited to welcome my first (hopefully of many) homebreds in 2022
And many many many more amazing moments.
Thank you to friends, family, students, clients, and of course our four hoofed friends for making 2021 the best it could be despite all that is going on in the world. Looking forward to the possibilities of 2022 ❤️

With the lack of shows I am able to make room for some more training this summer!

Perfect time to do some fine tuning, tune ups, or getting a youngster going after getting broke for when we do finally get the go ahead for shows.
Will work with any breed but especially love working with OTTBS💜

Will come to you as I unfortunately do not have any room to take more horses in at the moment. Fancy riding facilities are not required.
Willing to travel within 20-30 minutes of stonewall.
*I do not and will not break horses*
