Enzo has had great improvement with physio (iliopsoas injury) - thank you Boundary Bay Veterinary Specialty Hospital!🤗
His pain levels have improved immensely and he is expected to make a full recovery as long as we keep him from aggravating the injury further - this is the biggest challenge, as you can imagine keeping a goofy, energetic 7 month old puppy on restricted play, walks, etc.
We have also been working with some amazing behavioural trainers to help Enzo with trusting strangers. Being injured at a young age during a critical developmental period has resulted in some “stranger danger” behaviours. Enzo is an extremely affectionate and goofy boy who deeply loves his trusted people, but he relates strangers to his pain/previous pain and we are working on helping him trust others outside of his circle. He is a happy boy and loves people but is sensitive to touch from strangers. We are keeping positive and working hard to help him through this.

Time is going so fast! These little ones are now 5 weeks old. They are cruising through their curriculum with new exposures, sounds, surfaces, individual time and doing excellent with potty spot training.

We expect to have 2 🐶’s 👀 for their forever 🏡.
We will also have older guardian pups that have basic training, house trained and crate trained looking for their forever family in June.

😊Some enrichment time with the snuffle mat for Judd and Joplin today. They are both such great pups with beautiful temperaments. 💚Judd is our guardian boy to be a future dad in our program. He is a tri coloured F1 Sheepadoodle estimated to be 30-40lbs. 💜Our sweet girl Joplin is also tri coloured and estimated to be 25-30lbs. #minisheepadoodle #puppyenrichment #couldbeyours #rawfeddog
GROOMING - Our puppies are started with regular gentle handling from 3 days old. They then start with regular weekly nail trims at 1 week old. Toes, feet handled daily, ear and eyes cleaned regularly, face feet and hygiene area trimmed with scissors/clippers. Regular baths, grooming dryer, hair brushing and teeth brushing exposure is also started at a young age. If your puppy is given positive gentle exposure to these things from a young age and continued gentle handling and exposure, it makes at home and professional grooming a more positive and enjoyable experience for your puppy. Regular brushing to avoid matting is crucial. Matting can cause skin conditions, not to mention that it is painful for a dog to be dematted. A painful experience is not a positive experience and therefore will make grooming very stressful for your dog.The puppy in the video has been desensitized regularly to these things. It doesn’t mean that it has to be their favourite thing in the world, but that they can tolerate it well without stress. Treats, snuggles and praise are a huge help while giving these exposures to your puppy to help them associate it with something positive.♥️

👏♥️When you ask 5 week old puppies to “sit”! They are truly amazing!…I’m sure there was a little luck involved, but still they are learning well that calm sitting is good manners and brings good things. 🥰I can’t even…these little ones are so ridiculously adorable! At 3 1/2 weeks old, they have completed early neurological stimulation and early scent introduction. They are moving on to sound and sensory exposures. They have also started litter training and will be moving into their bigger sleep and play area soon!🤗
