February is dental month in the pet industry!

This is one of our veterinary assistant’s Sam brushing her dogs teeth!

Simple tips you can do to help your dog or cat get more comfortable with teeth brushing at home!

- lots of praise, and rewards!
- instead of a bulky toothbrush, you can use dental wipes or a finger toothbrush!
- you can wipe the toothpaste on your pets teeth and gums, so they get used too the flavour.
- teeth brushing should be done on a regular basis.
- teach them while their young!
- the toothpaste comes in many different flavours, make sure your pet likes the taste!
- & owners be patient!

Because of its sweet taste, antifreeze is unfortunately a common pet toxin in the winter. Be sure to look out for antifreeze spills around your car, driveway and garage and clean them up immediately. If you think your pet has ingested antifreeze, you should call your veterinarian or an emergency veterinarian right away.

Take a look at the most common signs of Vitamin D poisoning (which can sometimes take hours to manifest). If you think your pet has ingested vitamin D, you should take them to your veterinarian or nearest emergency hospital right away.
