Hey everyone! I am so excited to have finally strung up another beauty as I try to find some me time between baby and horses needing rode!

This breast collar is just 🤩WoW🤩
It is for a larger chested/shouldered horse (19” per panel)
A large mix of Turquoise Trail and Cora Mesa, from half diamonds of all sizes, in addition to a bunch of checker detailing.
To add some pop and sizzle I did a blend of outlining. It starts out light grey on the outside D’s, to a deep charcoal on the middle diamonds, ending with a stark black on the Center ring.
You won’t find better or prettier hardware then Horseshoe Brand, large D’s stainless steel with a black floral inlay.
And a tie down keeper has been added for for a little extra ✨

I am so excited to have finished this piece. Made myself a purse strap 😍 I bought this purse a couple years ago and paid hundreds more then my cheap behind has ever paid for a hand bag 🤣 but sadly rarely used it as I just wasn’t a huge fan of the shoulder handles always slipping off. I just so happened to magically have the exact perfect matching mohair colours in stock…. Some diamonds and framing done in turquoise and fridas flower, added some sandstone bars outlined in natural to match the purses beading. Feel like this is the most piece I’ve strung to date!

Definitely the most “simple” creation I’ve strung up yet…. But there’s just something punchy bout this guy 🤠

Every newest custom piece I get to create right now becomes my favourite! I can’t thank you enough for supporting this little hobby of mine, in addition to being so patient as they take longer while I juggle snuggling a 10 week old, washing bottles, doing laundry, remembering to eat food and trying to do chores in a bitter cold Alberta winter… it leaves me minimal time to string up these beauties… but the wait was definitely worth it with this one. Wow. you chose the most stellar colours and worked with me to create the coolest custom piece from design, to little add ons like the tie down keeper 🦄 I can’t wait to see your ponies wearing it!

I envisioned this breast collar months ago… I now know why mohair creators hate embroidery 🤣🙈 stringing an entire panel rather then designs for the letters to sit felt very strange, but I cannot express how thrilled I am with how my very first one turned out! A nice bright, bold, and Sizzlin’ 😉 design to match Ruger’s big bald face! I cannot wait for our first action shot in this bad boy! #100%mohair ***r

If you know and Willow, then you know their amazing come back kid story 🥰 I was already obsessed with every photo and video posted, knowing the heart break, efforts, love and team work put in by both horse and rider to not only recover but make it back to the barrel pen! Now I get to selfishly be extra obsessed watching Willow back burning cans in a breast collar I hand strung 😍. You ladies are a true inspiration!!!!

One panel on this breast collar for myself done! This guy was an adventure to say the least, but I love challenging myself and learning new parts of this craft! It was so different doing an entire panel rather then detailing, and then trying my hand at mohair embroidery (now I know why the professionals hate brands or wording so much 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️). I’ll admit it’s not perfect but I am THRILLED with how my very first attempt has turned out. Now onto panel number two!

Hey everyone! While I’m busy stringing up my very first breast collar I wanted to hop on and introduce myself and the story of SIZZLIN’ MOHAIR.

My name is Jessy and I reside with my other half Jackson in Mayerthorpe, Alberta. Together we are the team behind JH Equine where Jackson is an Equine Dentist and I am the behind the scenes doing all the communications and scheduling with our amazing clients.
We are the parents of 12 horses, 3 dogs and 2 cats, and if that isn’t enough craziness we are welcoming a baby girl in the next month!
Every pregnancy is different and I had to stop riding much sooner then I had hoped. So while I was bored and off my horses I decided to dig up Jackson’s old loom in the basement and learn how to string up mohair! I immediately became addicted and love learning new designs and detailing techniques.
My favourite aspect of was finally being able to use this name. When I was 10 years old I was blessed with the most amazing equine partner of my career, most knew him as King Louie, but his registered name was Sizzlin Jam. I have always wanted to name a venture after Louie with the word Sizzlin in it, in honour of him. Louie gave me 7 years in the barrel racing and rodeo arenas, winning countless buckles, halters, two trailers and setting numerous arena records. He was a one in a million who lit a little girls word on fire, taught me how to be a top competitor and jockey, ran with all his heart and was my best friend outside of the arena as well. It makes my heart so happy to think of him every time I type and allow his legacy to live on in some form 💕

Obsessed with this rainbow cinch I custom strung up for myself with our palomino c**t in mind 😍 Added some simple stabilizing bars as this outstanding mohair had so much sizzle I didn’t want to take away from its beauty by over detailing.

Rusty buckles and all I love this little practice cinch! Smaller c**t starting size, learned a checker pattern for the D-Ring bar, added diamonds on each buckle, and did a sharp outline of brown detail to add the sizzle 😉
