Rideau Breeze Stables Advanced FEEL®Certifed Equine Experiential Learning Coach/Facilitator and Home of Minis on the Move With the farm horses in her back yard were possible.

Kathy is an Equine Experiential Learning Facilitator, Transformational Life Coach, Reiki Practitioner, and writer. Her involvement with horses started as a teenager but did not really manifest itself fully later in life when she and her husband bought a farm. Her love of learning brought her down a path of becoming a student of riding, horsemanship, and stable management. She was particularly draw

n to dressage where she studied and competed for a time. Competition though was really not for her, it was the art of riding and the horse connection that she loved. As life challenges presented, a cancer diagnosis, the death of her mother, and her youngest son struggling with addiction, Kathy found herself simply going to the horses. Sitting on a rock, the horses would come and hold space. It was her therapy. She knew there was something profound about this. What was this feeling, this felt sense, this connection? Her curiosity and intuition lead her to a stable practicing equine assisted learning with children at risk. She became witness to a profound interaction with a beautiful elder mare and a young man. It became a sudden knowing or intuition that this was what she was supposed to be doing. She knew what it was. She knew what she needed to do. She quit her corporate job researched programs and became a student. She picked a program based on its attunement to mammalian emotions, science and spiritual influences on this profound connection. It is all about energy. She launched her practice in 2022. Kathy combines this work with other energy based modalities like Reiki, sound bathing, forest bathing, and yoga all done in partnership of horses and nature. She is also currently working on a book about a “Mothers Journey Through Adoption Addiction Finding Healing and Purpose through horses.”
Kathy resides with her Husband Jeff, 9 horses, and 2 dogs on her farm just south of Ottawa, Canada.

In the age of constantly being on line, the distorted "reality" of social media, body image issues, bullying, societal demands to conform, it is no wonder there is a mental health crisis in young people. Depression caused by thinking about what "has happened" and then anxiety thinking about what "could happen" has young people floating between these 2 poles with no sense of ground.

After being asked this summer to work with some teenage girls both one on one and in a clinic format It came flooding into my awareness that learning skills of resilience and being present in the moment is key to help grounding.

So we have developed this one day clinic with this in mind, Building resilience, learning how to ground and be present, goal setting, and boundary setting, all of course guided by horses as they are masters at ALL OF THIS.

This clinic comes to you.

Details in the link, but for further details please reach out to me directly. [email protected], or via dm

Building Resilience in Teens-Guided by Horses Clinic This clinic for teenage girls focuses on building resilience through guided interactions with horses, allowing participants to develop essential life skills in a supportive environment. Looking for relatively local heart centred horse professionals, trainers, coaches, bodyworkers, hoof care pros, to be part of a Beta test program.
As we move firmly into Fall/Winter this is the perfect time to work on this.

So what is this......
I have become very aware that the work that I do ( and others do)in the equine experiential learning space can be adapted to help horse people work with their own horses.

It is all about energy, authenticity, emotions, and being grounded.
I have done 4 workshops/clinics at barns that validated this as well as working one on one with some horse people. It has been a big AHA moment and is so needed in the horse world!

Some of you attended one of those workshops.
I have also had some horse professionals ( coaches/trainers) say to me how much more difficult their jobs have been lately as clients struggle with their own emotions and authenticity that invariably impacts their relationship and of course the riding of their horses.

People are more and more stressed, ( covid did not help), living in their head, ruminating about world troubles and complexities of life and fear of being judged by others.

They may not be even aware and thereby carry it to the barn and the horses, leaving coaches and trainers trying to navigate this. Becoming mini therapists at times.... Then of course this also is transferred to the horses when we are unaware or incongruent.

So.... I am developing a program taking all of the energy work, body work, breath works and a little bit of spirit work that I learned in my program and applying it to horse people.

The plan will be to have it deliverable in clinic form, one on one form at stables were people work with THEIR HORSES AND on line programs to support this.

Why work with you, coaches/trainers/horse pros?
I need validation and input and test subjects!
What do you get out of this?
Well you will learn some stuff for sure.
You will have takeaways for your clients for sure.
You will have your own "tool box" to take away
You will be part of a tribe of like minded heart centred horse professionals.
Plus there is a HUGE shift happening in the horse world...it is time, the grass roots movement is building ( Recent Olympics only highlighted this more...)

What is involved...First up just validate you want to be part of this.
Next step will be one on one interviews with each of you about where you are now with your clients/profession/horse work. This can be over Zoom or in person depending on location.
Step after that will be an on Line Meet and Greet to get started and we take it from there.
There will be group in person clinic where you get to experience the work, and we can test aspects....a work in progress!
By the way the activities are all ground work. This does not involve riding. The hope is to have a programs that helps riders do all of these things on the ground, techniques etc...and then if you are a coach/trainer you can take into into the saddle, if you are a bodyworker, hoof care pro...you can use these techniques yourselves with you and your clients.

To be part of this....
You must truly believe that horses are sentient beings with emotions and feelings.
You must believe in Care for horses as opposed to Power over horses

As a person who loves language and written words, I have been contemplating how to share my experience at Emotional Horsemanship by Lockie Phillips clinic this past weekend in Almonte. I could of course simply gush about what a lovely experience it was, like I was giving a review on Yelp and adding in my appropriate # stars, but it is more than that. It was a truly unique experience, an experience of being held by not only Lockie but the community that he has created, this tribe of heart centred horse people.
When I signed up for it earlier in the year it had more to do with diving into emotional horsemanship, to learn techniques, to establish even better horse human connections mostly for the work I do with my clients as an EFL facilitator. After I had audited a clinic the previous year, I “knew” this was a path I needed to follow. It was truly a felt sense. There were crumbs being dropped and as person who has become more curious and open over time, I followed.
My beautiful horse Lily knew, and my subconscious knew that it was more than that. She knew that I really wanted to get back to “her”. To our relationship and bond, to our connection and yes to our riding. She held the space for me while riding but also holding grounding space for Hershey and Kai while they were being guided. She can’t help herself!
What happened was simply a validation of this profound connection, a level of trust and love that could not have happened in other space because the space was held with authenticity and love.

She had not been ridden in a riding arena in many years and knew that I was nervous ( mostly about the dismount) but she said we can do this. She reminded me fear is just courage revealing itself. It was so beautiful and fun as she carried me around with the perfect guidance from Lockie. The appropriate corrections at the perfect time with intuition and care.
It occurred to me that although grounding, holding space and being the Wounded Healer Crone for others, that I also need it for myself.

I feel expanded and validated by the experience.
Thank you Lockie for what you do and creating the space for this community to flourish.
