Seren and Whiskey compete in 3 classes, and Sonny gets to sit back and relax 😌

We have been practicing for in hand jumping,obstacles and costume classes 🎉

This year will mark Seren & Whiskey’s second year at the exhibition,and Sonny’s first 🫏

We had some little guests over for a quick visit this afternoon 😁

Jack & Leo spent time with Whiskey & practiced how to lead with some assistance from Amy 🌟

Whiskey also showed the boys how to be safe and walk around him too 🐴

Happy 6th birthday to our Seren! 🐴

She is the original horse at MMR, and has been with us since she was a year and a half! Just a little baby girl ❤️

Seren loves a good hike, tasty grass and being the funky girl she is.

Happy international Donkey day! 🫏

Sonny is our newest member of the miniature mountain ranch team, and he’s really fitting in! ❤️

Did you know any of these facts: 😮

A donkey is stronger than a horse of the same size.
Donkey’s can see all four feet at the same time.
Donkey’s can vary wildly in size, fro, 26″ to 68″ tall.
A donkey’s bray can carry up to 60 miles in the desert.
Donkey’s have an incredibly efficient digestive system, using 95% of what they eat.
Donkey’s don’t like to be in the rain for long periods of time because their hair isn’t waterproof.
Donkey’s have been used as draft animals for at least 5000 years and they are still a lifeline for families in parts of Europe, Asia, Africa and South America.
Healthy donkeys can live into their 50’s.
A blind donkey often bonds with a sighted donkey who will act as a guide.
Donkey’s can have a calming influence on other animals
Donkey’s are highly intelligent with a keen sense of curiosity.
Donkey’s are not stubborn but can be reluctant to do anything that could be dangerous, they think things through before deciding what to do.
Donkey’s are extremely agile and can traverse difficult terrain.
Donkey’s are very social and form strong bonds
Donkey’s are different from horses in their physiology, communication, thinking and behavior.
Donkey’s require a different sedation regimen than do horses of the same size.

We had the lovely opportunity, to head down to the cove academy in Annapolis this afternoon 😄

Despite the rain, the kids loved learning about the cross on Sonny’s back,horses, and how to walk a horse too 🐴

Everyone went home with a miniature mountain bookmark, & a poem about the little donkey who took on the cross ✝️

We had the joy of celebrating & hosting our first birthday party at Mini Mountain Ranch today 🥳

The kids had an absolute blast,making their own cowboy hats,learning about horses and working as teams! 🤩
