Hey guys! Believe it or not, I also struggle with a dog who protests nail trims. I recently purchased this on Amazon and it's been pretty handy, so I thought I'd drop the link here in case anyone else could find it helpful :)
Obviously this doesn't help with the back nails and I do need to encourage my girl to use both paws because she does tend to favor one over the other. It won't completely remedy the problem but it's a good start! 💗

As a groomer, I hear it often. "We brush them all the time, but they still get matted!" The first thing I'll usually ask is what you're using at home. Often times, the issue is missing the key ingredient to keeping your dogs tangle free. While a slicker brush is an important part of your arsenal, it does best when paired with a comb. (I have some by the register if you'd like to buy one! ;) )
In this video, you can see how the comb gets caught in the hair, showing a little extra brushing is needed in that area. (I'm only pulling gently, never tug a comb through tangles!) You know the job is done when the comb glides smoothly through the coat like it does in the second part of the video.
Sometimes the coat can be too far gone for even the slicker/comb combo and this is when it's best to get a fresh start. Hair that gets dematted frequently will become damaged, causing tangles to form easier as the split ends like to wrap together. If you're ever worried you may be using the wrong tools, feel free to send me a message and I'd be more than happy to steer you in the right direction to keeping your fluffy dogs fluffy! :)
Decided to try something fun today 🥰
