While I thoroughly enjoy teaching Scorpion new and complicated behaviours that honestly, are pretty easy to teach her compared to Governor or Piglet, some days I just appreciate life with Governor.
He has all of his obedience. He is fully off-leash trained: meaning he will never run up to people or dogs. He will never run into the street. He will never pick things up off the ground. All of his obedience is reflexive (meaning that he doesn’t have to think about the behaviour that has been asked for), he has no behavioural problems anymore and he’s just a delight to be around.
It takes a long time to get to this level of reliability and I could not ask for more from this boy ❤️

I had made the trip to work with Richard Heinz in Miami before, but on this trip, I decided to explore more of the country and got to visit with some awesome people along the way.
I believe very strongly in creating community for yourself. We don’t become successful all on our own. We need support from our peers as well as our clients and I am very grateful for all of the relationships I have with so many fantastic trainers.

This baby girl has phenomenal focus! This, combined with her drive and intelligence, has made training so much easier than any other dog I’ve ever owned.
There are challenges for sure, but working hard to keep her attention has never been one of them (unlike with my Doberman 😁)

This is Scorpion’s first attempt at backwards circling the handler while “threatening” the ball 😤
She did extremely well for her first session. She did not break her position even when I brought the ball in a bit too close for her first try.
In the future, the ball will be a decoy. She must not bite unless the decoy comes in to attack.
