I'm Brynn Romeo, the owner of Hibougie, a small candle business operated out of the kitchen in my house. I individually hand make 100% soybean wax candles; which means each candle has a little bit of my love poured into it! A couple years ago while on vacation, I bought a candle in a teacup as a gift for a friend. I've always loved vintage teacups and also candles and the idea of making these litt
le gems really intrigued me. After much research and planning, I was able to find the perfect wax to use so as not to damage the cups. Since then it's been a lot of experimenting, trial and error and tweaking of my methods to perfect the final outcome. Not only did I find a wax that wouldn't harm the beautiful details of these delicate cups, it's also biodegradable, non-toxic and all natural (what a bonus!). Other advantages include: melting at a lower temperature (it's safer around children and pets), burns longer, cooler and cleaner than a candle made of paraffin would and it's composed of a renewable resource that promotes the care of our environment. Also, when the candle is finished burning, you can easily clean the teacup with soap and water and enjoy a hot cup of tea! Even though teacups are my main interest, I've also experimented with other containers, tealights, pillars and votives with great success!
