Un souvenir impressionnant pour l’un de nos membres!
4 days!!! The National is Coming!!!
Today we celebrate our 2022 National winning team of Bernard and Cooper!
I asked him if he a memory to share and advice as we get closer to our First Series and here is what he had to share:
2022 NFTCH COOPER
2022 National, sharing my memories,
The first five series, I remember that I was trying to do my best to be over Cooper and trying harder than usual to control every little detail, taking more time to do it right, probably because of the pressure, Cooper felt it, it was like I was telling him, “I don’t trust you like usual”.
The sixth series was a land blind with a couple of little window to handle through, kind of “fight the factors or die” and a killer for very fast dog, Cooper got out of the holding blind looking forward and faced that perfect line, his body language was like “ I know where you want me to go please trust me boss”, I quickly pulled the trigger, I knew he was on a mission, hit every pieces of cover hardy, fought every factor and quickly recovered that bird.
His confidence and mine was back and our team was on a mission! My goal after the sixth was one single thing, making sure he was able to see every bird fall on marks!!! Our confidence as a team and his amazing ability to mark was the recipe to win that National!
A piece of advice:
To qualify your dog, you did the right things! Donr forget what you did right instead of trying to do something new or better. Don’t try to change any ingredient of your recipe!
You need to have a plan A and B on every single bird, marks or blinds, you need to read the grounds and factors to find and hit every target on route to those birds!
Balance and timing are crucial, if your plan is not clear you are going to be late on your whistles and miss crucial targets.
Congratulations to all for your qualification and good luck!
