Dog parents—please do your research when choosing a groomer.
Grooming involves sharp tools on moving animals. As much as we work carefully and compassionately, accidents can happen. It’s not about if a cut might occur—it’s about understanding the risks and how professionals are prepared to handle them.
The most basic requirements of a professional groomer are: ✔️ Proper business registration
✔️ Valid insurance
Unfortunately, some groomers operate without these essentials—and that puts pets at risk. 🤯
I’m proud to be a member of the Atlantic Professional Groomer's Association , and we’ll be sharing an important “Vet Your Groomer” article to help pet owners know what to look for and what questions to ask.
Stay tuned—it’s information every dog owner should have. 😊

To my current, future and inquiring clients.

Like many of you, I have been deeply saddened and disturbed by the recent news involving a dog groomer in our province. My heart goes out to the pets and families affected.
Situations like this understandably raise concern and questions, and I want to take a moment to reassure my clients and community about the standards, values, and care that guide my work every single day.
The safety, comfort, and well-being of every dog in my care is my absolute top priority. I treat each dog as if they were my own — with patience, kindness, and respect for their individual needs, limits, and personalities. I practice humane handling, low-stress techniques, and I will always choose a dog’s emotional and physical welfare over completing a groom.
I also understand that during times like this, some pet parents may wish to stay with their dog during the grooming process or question why they are not able to do that. While I completely respect that feeling, I do want to explain why I am unable to allow owners to remain present during grooming and will only happen in rare occationals for the health and saefty of the dog based on previous actions and interactions. This is not only due to insurance and liability requirements, but also because dogs tend to be more distracted, anxious, or unpredictable when their owners are nearby. Grooming requires sharp tools and precise handling, and added movement or stress can increase the risk of accidental injury. For everyone’s safety — especially your dog’s — grooming is done in a calm, controlled environment.
Transparency deeply matters to me. Many if not all of my clients know that i am very transparent with any little thing to do with your dog, your dogs feelings, or behavior. I will always tell you about anything and eveything big or small weather it be a lump, scrape, bad day/mood, good day, ect and i will always continue to do so. I am always happy to answer questions about my grooming practices, safety protocols, training, policies, or anything else you’d like to know. If you ever have a concern, please know that open communication is not only welcome — it’s encouraged.
Thank you to my amazing clients for your continued trust. It means more to me than I can put into words. I am honoured to care for your dogs, and I remain fully committed to providing a safe, compassionate, and professional grooming environment.
If you have questions or would like to talk, my inbox is always open.
