One of my favourite parts of walking in the “private” forest is getting to know the other like-minded dog walkers and owners. We all know each other and even better, our dogs all know each other. We understand the different behaviours of each dog. Sometimes we choose to walk together and sometimes we wave a quick hello and move on. Yesterday Duff and Bolo (black labs) were happy to be in our group as we walked together. I am so grateful for the lovely company with lovely people and dogs.

This is crucial! Not all dogs enjoy dog parks, daycares, or other bustling social places, just as not all of us humans prefer a walk or cup of tea with a friend than going to the Stampede, nightclubs, or music festivals. Trying to change this can be like trying to socialize an introvert!

This picture makes my heart happy. While walking Chewie and Hunter, we ran into walking Willow and Cooper. Most times I need to avoid other dogs as both Chewie and Hunter are reactive. Not this time. Both dogs have been well socialized with both Cooper and Willow. And of course they all love Sheila. It was one big love fest. So happy!!

It is with heavy hearts that I share the news of one of our pack members passing over to rainbow bridge 🌈. Tucksie was the happiest dog and the lover of playing fetch. He was so happy to greet any person or dog. I could walk him with any dog. He was just so happy go lucky. RIP Tucks. You will be missed. 😢 🐶
