RAMS Adoption Centre works hand in hand with RAMS Animal Control to take ownership of the stray and unclaimed animals in our community.

We are beyond grateful to our wonderful friends, April and Ken Boer, for their extraordinary kindness and generosity in selecting RAMS Adoption Centre as the recipient of their annual fundraiser. Their final Christmas Light Display in Richer, Manitoba, has been a magical tradition, bringing families together to experience the joy of the season while encouraging them to support a cause close to their hearts. This year, the outpouring of love and support for our animals was truly overwhelming. Thanks to April and Ken's efforts, we received an incredible donation of leashes, collars, blankets, bedding, food, treats, ramps, toys, and to top it all off, a generous $500! We are deeply moved by this remarkable show of support from the community. "Thank you" feels too small to express the gratitude we feel – but it comes from the bottom of our hearts. Your kindness is making a difference, and we are forever thankful. ✨

The little warriors were out this past weekend raising money for the animals! Oma Norma told us the kids set up a lemonade stand in the driveway while they did their garage sale and raised $50.00 for the animals!

Our new neighbours have been so welcoming!
Peter saw us cutting grass and came over to tell us don't worry about the grass, he'll take care of it!!! How amazing!?

Hello Community!

We know you've all been waiting so patiently for a shelter update. There's lots happening and we are preparing more posts for the near future. STAY TUNED...

Many people have been asking what they can donated and so we've started a wish list... it's still in the works... HOWEVER Amazon has amazing cat towers on sale for 47% off right now!!

Now, being a Winnipeg-er I think we can all agree we LOVE a good deal! We thought maybe we can take advantage of this sale while it lasts!

We did it!

You, all the adopters, the volunteers, the staff... It's all because of these amazing people in our community that we can say that all our animals are now living in thier forever homes or have found placement in another rescue!

To our community

I'm sorry for not addressing some concerns raised by the public sooner. In all honesty I was ignoring comments on all social media to avoid additional stress. I wanted to focus all of my energy into the real problem first, homes for the animals. Saying that my team is bashing The Space and accusing us of not actually caring about the animals smells dangerously of bait... I'm not getting dragged into an online battle. But our community does deserve to hear our perspective of this as well. The Space did have contractors come through the building and we were advised they were just considering all of their options. Shortly after that I was provided a new lease agreement and at that time were told by The Space that they wanted RAMS to stay at 573 Main Street. I have never entered into a month to month lease at any time. I then stopped panicking as I thought they had secured a new site for themselves. A concerned member of the public sent me a photo of a notice they received advising of the application for a conditional use order for The SPACE to move back into 573 Main Street. When I saw that notice I was pretty sure they were kicking us out. I really truly did not and do not want this to turn into a social media war. I don't wish ill will toward The SPACE. We're both community serving enterprises after all. Our community shouldn't have to stress about taking sides. The facts are what they are there's no changing it now. RAMS will survive. The closure of the adoption centre will be temporary. The team at RAMS is working hard to find us a new home! Stay tuned!

The REAL story here is of a community coming together and finding homes for 60+ animals in such a short time. We can't even express to everyone how appreciative we are. And the team of staff and volunteers at the RAMS Adoption Centre have worked their rears off to make this happen!

Thank you all so much for making this happen. We will have a shelter update for you soon! Almost all the animals have homes/placement. 🐾 ❤️

Meet Titan! He has slightly different coloured eyes! He’s a huge sweetheart but not a fan of other cats. If you are a cat person without a cat please come meet Titan!!

We have some spectacular news!

Our friends over at collected donations for us last night to sponsor some adoptions! Raising $1,095.00!!!

AND the ladies at also donated to sponsor a cat adoption!

We now have an additional $1,295.00 to put towards sponsored adoptions!!! 🥳🥳🥳

Many people have been asking what we need for the move. We are lining up storage but need bins to store everything in.

Side note: Our plan is to reopen once we find a new space. When we're done with the bins we'll be donating them to be used for outdoor cat shelters!

The team at RAC are... exhausted... 😄 but also ELATED!

This must be some sort of record. We held 4 open houses over 4 days. 15 dogs and 31 cats found thier families!! This is such an amazing accomplishment. We couldn't have done any of this without the amazing support and help from our team, the volunteers and especially YOU. Our amazing community really showed up for us in this time of need. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. 🐾 ❤️

We have some amazing news!
Our friends at have secured 11 of our cats placement in a rescue out of province! They will be heading out to ON next week!

That leaves us with:
8 cats and 2 dogs looking for homes/placement.

Our plan, Phase 2:
As you may be aware, phase 1 was to adopt as many out as possible. Phase 2 consists of us still trying to adopt as many out as possible but now we are reaching out to our cohorts in other rescues and shelters to see if any of our animals can join their ranks. It's a common misconception that we come across at the shelter that other rescue groups/shelters are our competitors. In reality/behind the scenes we all work together. We all have one common goal and that is helping animals in need and finding them safe homes where they can live their best lives. When you support a rescue, any rescue you support us all.

What a great day at the shelter.

Another 2 pups (Disney litter) found thier families.

We had another successful day today! Thank you everyone that came out to visit!

2 more Disney puppies & 7 cats found thier homes today!

Our sincerest apologies. Our earlier post that said 39 cats was incorrect. We had transferred a few cats into rescues this past week and that number included those cats. So this morning we started off with 35 cats not 39.
