Got the gardens planted the weekend while my mom came to visit. We picked up the cold crops and some cold resistant flowers. We have added 3 new galvanized steel gardens to the 3 we already had.
We have our blueberries (now second year plants), strawberries (second year Montana berries and June berries), white onions, green onions, kale, broccoli, Brussel sprouts, cabbage (a happy accident that we mistakenly popped in the cart), lettuce, Radicchio, strawberry mint, chocolate mint, mojito mint.
And a variety of flowers like bleeding hearts, pansies, garbers, tulips, Heather, delphinium, butterfly bush, bee bush, lavenders, and a few others.

Now we wait on grabbing the warm weather herbs and plants and add in some sunflowers into the mix. So excited to watch this year's garden explode!

Well this is what's left over from dinner on Thursday night. It was put in Thursday night around 5pm and taken out Saturday morning.
The red tray was full of mixes from the crabs did a good clean up of her mixes I'm definitely impressed because my gang is fairly picky and have refused foods from many vendors before. I was very impressed with her products. For a vendor just getting up and running I'm very pleased, I was happy with the quality shipping was fast the mixes smelled good and the crabs seemed very satisfied with them too. I'm excited to see where this shop goes moving forward i can't wait to see them expand. I'm excited to see the variety that comes out this summer.
I would definitely recommend checking out and trying out an order from their etsy shop.

Crabby Gardens are 5 days old one of the gardens is in a lighter area on the second highest level of the topper, other garden is the lowest level of another topper. Today I swapped them around so the can both do great. 5 days grown completely in the tank no extra watering just 1 good soak up when I did the seeds. Growing medium is a simple mix of sand and eco earth about a 50/50 mix

Mr jumbo in his Thursday best.
Shells in Canada are so difficult to find and large turbos are very few and far between. But this guy has finally found his taste for fashion and is picking out the pretty pants I always hoped he would wear.
He's a over 3" opening and I have owned him 7 years but the lady before me had him for 10 and the man before her had him for an unknown amount of time. He's an absolute giant but the most gentle boy in the tank.

I have been hunting for this very well loved shell for a few weeks now only to finally see it occupied. Guess I'll have to wait a while longer before retiring it. This shell has many miles on it and is showing signs it's been well lived and is ready for a break. As soon as it's empty someone new picks it up to call it home.
Sisterhood of the traveling shell it is I guess, so enjoy some beautiful pictures of crabtin clawrence. Anyone remember his arrival?

Next year we will have quite the large sunflower collection I've been cutting and drying the good heads and some of our favorites and harvesting the seeds for next year!
I am also harvesting carrot seeds, chicken seeds, leek seeds, lettuce seeds, broccoli seeds, basil seeds and cucumber seeds. All to plant next year's garden for year 1 garden I'm pleasantly surprised!

Completed the task of chopping down our largest sunflower now that it's done blooming and had time to lightly dry.
This thing was colossal! The stock was so thick even my branch cutter couldn't get threw it I'm drying all these seeds to plant next year. Unfortunately not all the seeds are fully ripe the head was so heavy the neck of the stem snapped halfway into the blooming period. But we should get plenty of good seeds still.
So far we have mammoth sunflower seeds, pikes peak, evening sun, and whatever this one is I thought it was a mammoth but the seeds look look like a hybrid of mammoth and pikes peak. Either way hopefully we get more giants next year!
