Alyssa and little Annie ❤️ Annie has come along way since being rescued in the fence of my parents yard. Her and her siblings were all feral and we tamed them. I’ve heard her siblings are spunky but full of love as well. Annie was special. She wasn’t growing like her littermates, and we noticed something wrong after having her for a few days. Annie has Manx Cat syndrome, so she had no control of her bowels and her poor little bum was deformed. I would bathe her twice a day to keep her clean, as it all got caked on her back end and she was unable to walk or clean it herself. We tried diapers and cut socks to help, and that worked so she could run around the house. Her siblings all were adopted, and there was interest in this baby, but most backed out on account of her condition, and we couldn’t let her go to just anyone. A lot of people would not want a kitty with these issues, and I was afraid someone would say they could, and then get overwhelmed and dump her or put her down. She is the sweetest little thing ever. She is so loving and loves the kids and animals. I said to myself that I didn’t want another cat, Mike is an only cat house.
But after bonding with this sweet girl we decided no one else is going to be good enough for her in my eyes, she has her perfect family here.
As Annie has grown, her back end has improved significantly. She has the odd accident here and there but everyone works together to clean up. I don’t have to bathe her everyday anymore because oh her major improvements, I tell everyone she must have been doing toning exercises lol. I fought through many people saying “does she have quality of life?” “She’s gross just maybe put her out of her misery” and so on. But I believed in my little smelly cat ❤️
She’s name after little orphan Annie from the musical. She has the loudest purr I’ve ever heard. And she is the perfect addition to our family.
I will forever sing “The sun will come out tomorrow” to her, to remind her and myself that I saved her. Also “Smelly Cat” cause, well, it’s obvious lol.
Spay and Neuter your pets everyone. The amount of animals in need of homes is at a record limit and we need to be saving more little lives ❤️❤️
