The recent weather changes can precipitate to pneumonia in your calves, especially if they have the stress of weaning, mixing or transport. Monitor for signs of pneumonia including decreased appetite or off feed, droopy ears, increased rate or labored breathing, coughing or nasal discharge. Re**al temperatures above 39.5 C are abnormal. Call our team at MorEnergy to discuss exam or treatment for pneumonia.

Dr. Venessa Ibsen
We are so happy to introduce our newest addition to the team!!

A true western Canadian, Venessa has spent many years living in Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at the University of British Columbia – Okanagan in 2014. She then spent 5 years as an embryologist at a dairy veterinary practice in Abbotsford, where her love of large animal medicine was fostered. Getting into WCVM meant making the trek to Saskatoon in 2019 to complete her DVM in 2023. Upon graduation, Venessa worked in a mixed animal practice in Olds, Alberta for a year and half. Venessa loves all aspects of Vet Med and can’t wait to be a part of the new MorEnergy team!
In her spare time, Venessa romps around the outdoors with her two dogs, Gryffindor and Lucia, and her kitten, Mogget. She enjoys reading, creating a variety of art, crafts and working out. Fun fact about Venessa is that she was born in Germany and speaks semi fluent German. She’s hoping to find a beautiful acreage to add to her herd of animals and start a garden!
