From December 20th, 2024, to January 5th, 2025, I’ll be taking some time off to enjoy the holidays with my family. ❤️ Regular dog walking will resume on January 6th, 2025. 🐾

I’ll send out messages on January 5th to book walks for that week!

🐾 What to Do If You Find a Hypothermic Animal 🐾

Finding an animal in distress during freezing weather can be heartbreaking 🥶💔. Here’s how you can help:

1️⃣ Move them to a warm, safe space 🏡✨. Avoid sudden temperature changes—don’t place them directly in front of a heater.
2️⃣ Wrap them in warm blankets 🛌🔥. Use body heat or a heating pad set to low (if available) to help them warm up gradually.
3️⃣ Check for signs of hypothermia: Shivering, lethargy, shallow breathing, or a low heart rate are all red flags 🚨❄️.
4️⃣ Offer lukewarm water or broth 🥣 (if they’re alert). This can help increase their internal temperature.
5️⃣ Contact a vet ASAP 🩺📞. Professional care is crucial for their recovery!

❌ Don’t:
• Use hot water bottles or very hot heat sources directly on their skin.
• Delay getting professional help.

Today, Stevie wrapped up his board and train and has gone back home! 🏡 Over the past two weeks, he’s learned so much and gained a ton of confidence. 💪✨ Now it’s up to his mom to keep the momentum going—Stevie is one smart boy, and we know he’ll continue to shine! 🌟

🚨 Important Update for Monday Walks 🚨

Hey everyone! With freezing rain in the forecast for Monday, safety is my top priority—for both your pups and myself. 🌧️❄️ If the roads are dangerous, I will need to cancel all walks for the day. I’ll keep you updated as the weather unfolds and let you know if walks are possible.

Additionally, if school buses are canceled, I’ll need to stay home with my kids and won’t be able to walk that day. Thank you for understanding!

Bringing home a new puppy is exciting, but it’s not all cuddles and wagging tails. 🐶 Sometimes, the puppy blues can sneak in—feelings of being overwhelmed, stressed, or even regretful. Guess what? You’re not alone, and it’s totally normal! 💡

Here are some tips to get through this challenging phase:

✨ Focus on the wins: Celebrate small victories, like your pup mastering “sit” or sleeping through the night. 🛏️🎉
✨ Take breaks: Self-care is vital! Tag a partner, friend, or hire help like a dog walker (🙋‍♀️) to lighten the load.

Understanding Littermate Syndrome 🐶❤️

Littermate Syndrome is a common challenge pet parents face when adopting two puppies from the same litter. While it might seem adorable to bring home a pair of siblings, it can lead to:

🔹 Over-attachment: Puppies may bond too closely with each other, making it harder for them to bond with humans.
🔹 Behavioral issues: Fearfulness, aggression, or separation anxiety can develop if they rely too heavily on each other.
🔹 Training difficulties: They might struggle to focus during training sessions because they’re distracted by their sibling.

How to Prevent Littermate Syndrome:
1️⃣ Spend one-on-one time with each puppy daily.
2️⃣ Train them separately to ensure individual growth.
3️⃣ Crate them separately to help them develop independence.
4️⃣ Socialize them with other dogs and humans regularly.

The holiday season is full of joy, but it also comes with some hidden dangers for our furry friends. Let’s make sure they stay safe and happy!

1️⃣ Watch Those Treats 🍫🍪
Many holiday favorites like chocolate, raisins, grapes, and artificial sweeteners (like xylitol) are toxic to pets. Keep them out of reach and opt for pet-safe treats instead! 🐶🐾

2️⃣ Mind the Plants 🌿🎍
Beautiful decorations like mistletoe, holly, and poinsettias can be harmful if ingested. Stick to pet-safe greenery or artificial alternatives.
