Hi Everyone. I know Theresa Priester, my daughter has been trying to keep Everyone updated .....
I keep trying everyday, and Everyday is a new step. I've had a hard journey, I won't deny that.
So Eric Graham from DP&O has worked with me since the beginning. Yes he's made my sockets and I tried several knees in the right AKA. And he's been working with my left BKA. Still working on getting both legs on and working. My right AKA has and is giving me grief . Shirlene my physiotherapist has been and still is great with me. She works with other clients at DP&O down on McEwen off Wentworth in Whitby. So it stands that I've been off my right leg, still using the left limb. .
I'd like to Thank Everyone for the support. ☺️💞💞❤️
And BTW.... I still have the 2 boys looking for homes.....

As you know we are closed permanently but I really wanted to share Theresa's post on her Buds & Bubbles Pet Spaw page.

Happy Monday.
This is a love hate time of year.
We love the spring and beautiful weather
BUT
We've all heard April 1st everything goes up.
This also means grooming salons, hair dressers and many other similar jobs will be raising their prices.
We know first hand that it's hard financially. We understand when you hear your sh*tzu is anywhere from $70-$100 it sounds outrageous.
WE GET IT!!!!
BUT our prices for products go up, sharpening our blades scissors, cleaning them with special cleaner and oil everyday, cleaning products so your pets don't get sick, shampoos, conditioners, rent, bills, and many other expenses a business has.
NOW
Top that off with we also need to make money for ourselves in order to eat, pay our rent at home, bills and other home expenses.

If we kept our prices the same at a low price we will literally only make the cost to cover all our maintenance at work and we would loose our homes or we would use the money for our homes and loose our business.
We don't want either of that happening and I'm sure you don't either.

We don't raise our prices to purposely gouge your pockets.
We raise our prices to survive too.
Commercial rent is not as cheap as a home at times. Also commercial can be raised anytime.

Please be kind to your groomers and know that they are only raising prices because they are struggling just as much as you are.

April 1st will not be our favorite day but prices will increase everywhere.

Hey everyone.
Happy Sunday

We've still had many clients that I know have been following our page texting and messaging for appointments.

Our OSHAWA location Is permanently CLOSED.

I know this is extremely upsetting for some. We do apologize that this is very inconvenient for a lot of people.
We did post on here several times and leave a message on our voice-mail that we were closing.

If you know us well, my mom(sandy) owns the business.
Over christmas holidays she ended up needed her other lower leg and foot amputated. This means she has no feet, and needs to learn how to walk all over again.
She could not manage the shop and take care of herself.
It was an extremely difficult situation and choice.

Jane and I(Theresa) are still working full time as groomers. We love our Job so this didn't hold us back from figuring out our new journey.

Jane Is working at a new location. It's about a 20 minute drive.

We understand for some this isn't possible.

We loved all of our clients. Most of you were also good friends or felt like family. We will miss you all.

I(Theresa) am in oshawa every Friday and Sunday almost. I am offering nail trims as well. I will come to you, if we need 2 people I have helpers as I was training my daughters the last few years too.

It has been an extremely tough time for her having to close the business and no income coming in. She really could use all the help she can get at this point. Our family has struggled and is struggling but wile will pull through. We know it takes time and patience ❤️❤️❤️

Our family has been through some crazy ups and downs.
If you're a long time client then you know how hard these last few years have been.
I understand a lot of people may not be able to donate. But please share around.
If you're new here. Long story short, my mom(owner of barks and bubbles) left work August 2022 on her motorcycle and was cut off by a pick up truck. She almost didn't make it, and lost her right leg.
Fast forward to December 2023, she had several blood clots and they just couldn't save her foot. Now she has lost her other lower leg and foot.
Yes, we are taking it to court and fighting but it does take a long time. During this time we thought in the beginning we could handle things but expenses add up fast. My mom and I both struggling to keep up as we help each other. We've had so many clients and friends mention about go fund me. That maybe there are people out there that hear our story and will be willing to help. Here is our go fund me link.

Well we gotta say thanks for the support.
Barks & Bubbles Professional Dog Grooming is officially closed. We are sorry we had to close. We'll miss our clients. I Sandy will not be making it back to grooming. Time to heal is what I need to concentrate on.
Theresa and Jane are still grooming but in their own places..which is already been posted about staying with them.

Good morning everyone.
Jane does have a 10 am slot available this morning.
I will let everyone know that I am pretty much fully booked up. I could fit one or 2 smaller dogs in but if you do drive and are thinking you may want to follow me. My new shop is right near Costco in Peterborough. Not hard to find at all. It takes about 45 minutes to get there from oshawa.

I made this for my mom and our family

While we try to figure everything out with closing our oshawa business and with all that she's been through, our whole family has gone through there are expenses that we have needed to pay or still need to pay. She's lost her whole entire right leg and now has lost her left foot and lower leg.

Any help along the way would be absolutely appreciated.
Some may not like this idea and that's ok.
I'm not demanding help, I'm simply asking.

This is our final full week of work, there are many appointments still available.
Well also be in Saturday, Monday and Tuesdayof next week is morning only. Closed Tuesday 30th afternoon and all day Wednesday 31st.
Well be cleaning out the shop during this week and the last 2 days will be when we're moving a lot of big things.
I know we had a few people offer help, please send us a message on the days you're able to help and what you could help with.
We do have a contractor coming to help take the tub out but I will need help lifting it as well as other big things.

Good morning everyone.
I know I've been posting every week.
Mom(sandy) had the surgery and is allowed to go home today.
I know there's been some messages and calls that I need to return from this week. Please have patience. I'm trying very hard but I'm running this shop, plus my own in Peterborough, I make time to try and see mom for a few hours each day and I have 6 kids at home and 2 dogs that need walking every day.
That's a lot to fit into one day. We have one more full week left. January is always a slow month after Christmas so we still have a lot of availability.
Don't forget Jane is going to be taking on anyone who'd like to follow her.

Good morning and happy Sunday.

Sandy has had her surgery, below the knee had to be removed. It was very shocking and sad news but after further investigation this infection had been slowly taking over her body for a little while so we apologize if she was a little off at times.
On a good note, with the surgery done, it means she can finally rest, heal and start recovery. I am not sure if anyone will get to see her before we close but we do welcome cards and get well gifts and we also welcome any cards and farewell gifts as well for all of us(jane, Theresa and Sandy).

Good evening everyone, I'm very sorry for not returning calls or a lot of messages this week. It was a rough week with my momma. There were a lot of emotional moments and some were even a bit of touch and go, close calls.
Teeth cleaning is still tomorrow(friday January 12th). If you've made your appointment it is still happening. If you forget your time slot I can remind you. Also I believe we did have a cancelation for a teeth cleaning so we may have an opening. You can message me for details.
One more reminder
The shop is open until the end of January. We want to make some money to help my mom pay any bills or outstanding balances before we close up.
After januray-
Jane will be grooming between Newcastle and Newtonville. And I will be full time in Peterborough.

Update on mom(sandy)
As you all knew she was pretty sick with the flu, then she started to have pain and her foot was cold and changing colour. She finally went to the hospital Christmas morning. It turned out to be blood clots in the groin, leg and foot. They did surgery but couldn't do surgery on the foot.
They ran fluid through iv to flush the blood clots out. Unfortunately after a few days the Dr said the foot would need to be removed. Mom wasn't having it of course. She already lost one leg. So she begged to go home. She couldn't walk or anything but because she was proving to wiggle from bed to wheel chair they let her go. With in a few more days she was in unbearable pain. A friend and worker that is also a friend went to check on her Wednesday evening as we all were taking turns and they found her incoherent with a major fever. Infection had set in. So the ambulance was called. She was hooked up to iv with antibiotics and pain medication. Last night was confirmed there has been no change in her foot after almost 2 weeks and that it is not healing. She finally decided to have the surgery to remove the other foot.
As you can imagine this is not easy for her or our family. It was 2 weeks of emotional roller coaster for all of us.

Due to this and many other obstacles ahead we have decided to close Barks and Bubbles oshawa location.
January is our last month if you'd like to get in for a grooming or a clean up.

Hello, we finally fixed the business page I (Theresa) am able to post again..
Yaaayyy.
I wanted to update everyone.
Sandy had some issues.
Most probably know she was really sick with that flu going around, then she had severe pain and her foot went completely ice cold, it also turned blue and purple.
It turned out she had a few blockages in her aorta. They did surgery yesterday and removed a few going down her one side including the leg. There are still a few in her foot. They have her on an iv drip with the proper stuff to flush the other small blockages. Fingers crossed this works and everything heals up properly.

We will be booking dogs this week with myself or Jane if anyone would like in between now and new years. Please send a message or give a call
