Fang has his big surgery day tomorrow!
Everyone give him their well wishes as this is quite an extensive surgery for a bun his age ♥️
We love you fang ♥️
Fang was the BEST boy at the vet today.
Vet findings:
- Overgrown and chipped incisors
- Mild (but bad) sore hocks
- Very bad molars with a potential to be creating an abscess
Resolution:
- ASAP dental float with a neuter
- Continue use of sore hock cream and boots
- Antibiotics and pain medicine until surgery day
Findings after today’s vet were as expected. Given the state of Fang’s teeth, he will need atleast 3 dental floats as per our vet’s findings. She did say however, that he is in amazing spirits and otherwise good health for his age.
If you wish to contribute to Fang’s ongoing vet care (estimating we will need another $500 from what we raised previously) we accept donations at our vet at Prescott Animal Hospital under the file *Ottawa Pocket Pet Rescue* as well as e transfer donations to [email protected]
Fang is such a sweet boy and surprisingly, loves car rides. He was all kicked out and relaxed the entire round trip ♥️

EDIT: RIDE FOUND
We tentatively need a driver for September 6th at 2:30pm for Fang’s appointment at Prescott Animal Hospital.
The driver would need to pick up Fang in Orleans and after the appointment, drop off Fang in Orleans.
Location: K4A Orleans to 2725 Edward street North, Prescott and back
We may be able to do this on our own, however in case we can’t we are putting feelers out.
Thank you!

What animals do we have in care?
Although we are closed for intake, we are willing to have a few spaces for emergency spots.
Quite a few times now we get asked how we can still ask for donations when our intake is closed. This is why.
Just because we don’t have many adoptables ready, doesn’t mean we don’t have animals.
Meet Sugar and Spice
These girls came to us back at the beginning of July. We haven’t posted them much as their case is quite severe. They were set to be euthanized shortly in an over run shelter, while also have quite a bit of special medical needs. Despite this we decided to take them in.
Once they arrived we noticed how much significantly bigger Sugar was and how pear shaped she was. At the moment, she is on a 90 day pregnancy watch along with her sister as well as daily soaks in chlorohexidine for their extremely bad bumble feet. Spice has her own ailments as well.
Needless to say, we are still here and working tirelessly on some of our medical residents while our intake is closed 🙂
EDIT: $190 raised
HUGE thank you to everyone!
In the six hour span that I was at work, we were able to raise a whopping $140 towards Gourd!
This money will be going towards his wellness check and and long term medications he will need to be on
We have received $0 in donations for Gourd :(
Thank you to ParkFarms.ca for your monthly donation of hay to our critters in the rescue!
Gourd is very excited to try his first batch of farm fresh hay 🌾

Meet Gourd!
Gourdie came to the rescue yesterday as an emergency. We are still closed for intake, but with certain emergency cases we can have some wiggle room.
Gourdie is a very special needs case, plus given his age, will be staying here as a permanent medical resident.
He is expected to need lots of medical intervention, and for this reason we are asking for donations to go towards him.
Any donations can be sent to [email protected]
We also accept physical donations of Guineas pig food, hay, greens, etc..
Thank you!
Twig goes in for her spay and vaccination tomorrow morning!
Send her your well wishes below 👇 💕
We are thrilled to announce that we will be partnering with Ottawa Humane Society and their summer camps to educate our next generation of animal activists ♥️
When starting this rescue, we always wanted to provide education and resources to better the lives of our small companions. This is something that we are extremely proud and happy to announce and can’t wait to share our knowledge 🙂
**please note this is closed to the public, and solely for those children registered in these camp weeks**

Busy busy day!
Yesterday all of our emergency intakes had arrived!
First off we have little miss Bun Bun (name still tbd):
She has settled in extremely well and is eating and popping. She is however very emaciated, and we believe younger than the shelter predicted.
Our goal is to get her in to our vets ASAP for a general wellness check and from there we will plan her spay and vaccinations once she is all healthy.
Our other intakes:
These two pigs came in also as an emergency. Both were at risk of being put down at a Quebec shelter and had a *due date* fast approaching. Both of these piggies are female and in very poor condition. We are also speculating if one in pregnant.
Thank you again to everyone who had donated to Miss Bun Bun. We will be sure to provide lots of updates as we follow her along on her journey 🙂
EDIT: GOAL REACHED
We are SO close
OVERNIGHT UPDATE
we are still $215 short from our goal!
Donations could also be sent to our vet clinic at Prescott Animal Hospital under Ottawa Pocket Pet Rescue
Thank you everyone!
UPDATED FUNDRAISING:
We are half way there!!
What would this $500 go towards?
Our emergency intake’s spay and vaccine
We are asking for the minimum of $500, she will most likely need more vetting however, the 500 will cover her basic needs 🙂
With our euthanasia list bunny coming shortly, we are so grateful for partnerships like this one ♥️
Why you should buy ParkFarms.ca hay:
- extremely nutrient-dense
- harder hay pieces to help wear down small animal teeth
- Natural and fresh
- Delicious and enticing for even the pickiest hay eaters
Thank you to Park Farms for supporting small rescues such as ours ♥️
RABBIT HAS BEEN SAVED! RABBIT HAS BEEN SAVED!
Our community never fails to amaze me! We have secured a foster and this, are able to help the bun bun ♥️
We are still in need of funds however, in order to get her seen asap, spayed, and vaccinated!
We will be updated our fundraiser goal often so stay tuned!
EDIT: RABBIT HAS BEEN SAVED - WE ARE STILL IN NEED OF FUNDS HOWEVER
It has come to our attention that this pretty bun is set to be euthanized TOMORROW at a Quebec shelter that is overrun.
We don’t normally intake rabbits, however we feel drawn to help this poor girl out.
(We do have our own personal rabbits so we understand the care requirements for them)
In order for us to intake, we need to following help from our followers:
- large dog crate (or an X-pen)
- hay
- a foster
- to raise $500 for vetting/spay and vaccine for this little one
*WE NEED TO GET MOST OF THESE BY END OF DAY TODAY IN ORDER TO SAVE HER**
If you think you can help, please send us an email asap at [email protected]
Let’s come together to help save this innocent soul 💕
** we are not the ones who are going to euthanize this rabbit, it is a third party shelter in Quebec**

A little update on our grandpa Fergus! Given his old age, and history of change, he is finding the adjustment very hard. He is not really going for food unless we physically feed him. He also has very dry skin everywhere as well as exhibiting signs of bumble foot. We are rooting for this old man no matter what, and are hoping to get him into the vet within the next week or two. For now, he is on a joint supplement, dust limited to once a week, and layers of soft, padded fleece for his poor feet. Aside from all of this, Fergus is extremely sweet and snuggly for a chinchilla! He also loves giving kisses. **EDIT** he is currently on treatment that we have on hand from our vets; we still would like to take him at their soonest availability to look him over

Amazing time once again with our friends at Kozy Kritters and Beacon Hill Fur Family Grooming and Training! Check out this fun little TikTok about our day in prep and night!
We regret to inform everyone that our fighter and survivor Ms. Hope unfortunately passed away in her sleep last night. She lived a full life and knew love until the very end. From coming to us in a horrendous condition after being dumped outside, to regaining complete function of a back leg and running on her wheel every night. Hopey was truly an inspiration and has impacted everyone she has met. Let everyone remember Hope’s legacy ❤️
