We are currently experiencing an increased volume of inquiries and acknowledge that over the last week + we are behind in replying to all of them.

We are triaging based on urgency and capacity and are working hard to get back to everyone as soon as possible.

We are an entirely volunteer run rescue with limited resources; thank you for your patience and understanding.

Please note that while our Registered Veterinary Technician offers medical assistance services to assist in existing treatments, suggestions for care, and education; we are not a veterinary practice so we can neither diagnose, nor provide prescriptions.

If you know or think your animal is in need of medical care or intervention please contact a Veterinarian directly.

Nugget here, with a mild calcium deficiency. He also has an accumulation of mucoid debris and a possible abscess that is pressing against his inner ear which causes his sad (but adorable) head tilt.
We are actively working on his treatment. Donations, as always, are appreciated for the care of these animals in need.

Lucy, who happens to be the subject of one of our sticker designs, is a lovely Ball Python looking for her forever home. She has a wonderful laid-back personality, and has shown herself to be a reliable girl with all kinds of people, experienced and inexperienced.

This beautiful young boa has many health issues, including eye concerns, skin damage, and a few other problems that we're doing our best to remedy with the help of our veterinary team. Despite all her on-going health concerns she's been very sweet and even came out for our small photo shoot. We hope that with time and as she gains good health, her personality will continue to shine through.

Woot! Being recognized by local businesses and supporters for the work that we do is heart-warming. Helping to get the word out that these animals need just as much attention, care, and compassion is important to us.
Thank you, Beth (Unleash Pet Photography) for featuring us in your spotlight. The support you show for your community is absolutely lovely.

She's on her way to Ottawa! She's almost here! πŸ₯Ή
Thank you SO MUCH to all of our supporters. We honestly can't thank you enough for helping us fund her care, for volunteering to do the hours-long drive to pick her up, for volunteering to care for her during treatment, and for volunteering to care for her until she finds a loving family of her own. We can't do what we do without you, and we know it. We are grateful for you, and so is this lucky little lady.
Here's hoping her recovery is smooth and successful! πŸ€žπŸπŸ’•

ETA:
We've raised $866 so far! It is currently 6:50pm, next day.
You are all AMAZING! Let's keep it going! Diagnostics, treatments, and setup will be costly so, the more we can raise, the better! πŸ₯ΉπŸ’•

Oh man, we really need our supporters for this one. 😞

This sad 1-2yo female Hogg Island Boa is in desperate need of medical attention. She has passed through a few people's hands, and is currently in the care of a good samaritan. Unfortunately, said individual is a student with little-to-no funds to help this lovely girl, although she certainly has the drive to help her find someone that does. Thus, we arrive to the place where we're at... We need money. 😬

Our vetting costs for HEALTHY boas is a little over $450. That does not include diagnostics and treatment for illnesses, nor does it include the cost to set-up and house an animal of this size.
We WANT to help this lovely young lady but we need to raise money, and FAST. We will be sharing this post in as many places as FB and group admins allow. We would encourage all of our followers to do the same.

If you would like to donate, please choose one of the following methods:

1) PayPal (paypal.me/GalaxyReptileRescue)

2) e-transfer ([email protected])

3) CC/Square (we would need to send you a pre-invoice for you to pay, and it does cost us a fee, so keep that in mind, please)

4) Direct to the Vet (call Lynwood Animal Hospital, 613-820-0443, and process a payment over-the-phone to place on our account!)

5) If you happen to know one of our Board Members or volunteers, personally, you're also welcome to toss us whatever cash you feel like sharing!

We cannot commit to this girl until we've raised at least $400 to meet our minimum amount of vetting! The sooner we can get there, the faster we can pick her up, and the better her chances of success!

Thank you all for your support and encouragement! We hate to ask for your money, but it truly does take a village. Thank you. πŸ’•πŸ

Did you know that Galaxy Reptile Rescue took on 17 surrenders in the last 2 months?!
Here is one of them: Slater the cornsnake! Slater is a young snake that is eating and shedding well. Slater will be done quarantine before we know it and hopefully he can find his forever home soon.
