“I am going to take you for a geography lesson. It will be a geography lesson all the time, from start to finish.”

My Daisy has transitioned through life to the other side. She died last month at 16 years old, after a life full of adventure and deep love. It’s too hard for me to write much about her death right now. I’m heartbroken. I miss her more than words.

I’ve created a Facebook group in memory of Daisy, and my cat Bumble who I said goodbye to in May. I will write small sharings here as time goes on. If you’d like to join me in honouring them, even if you didn’t know them, please send me a message and I can add you to the group. ❤️

I forgot to introduce Mr. Mag! Mag is 85lbs, and not yet even a year old. He was kept indoors, with little exposure to the outside world before his family took him in. He’s now exploring this wonderful land with a tiny bit of caution, and mounds of enthusiasm! Look at this pure joy on his face as he discovers there’s a whole world to explore! 🐕🌲☀️

On this day, we practiced how to walk across slippery boardwalks and navigate steep, rocky hills. We jogged for focus, sniffed a lot, and enjoyed the fun of puddles and mud! We met a toad, quite freakish! - and confidently continued on our way. High-five Mag! 🙌🏼🐾

Where are all our frenchie lovers at? We are looking for a FOSTER-TO-ADOPT home for little Maya.

What is a foster to adopt - Maya will be placed in a foster home where she will be adopted by her foster family after she has been spayed and all medical issues are resolved. All veterinary costs are covered by us until adoption.

📌must be within reasonable driving distance to Oshawa area for frequent vet visits
📌other dogs in home ok
📌must have brachycephalic experience
📌daily eye drops will be required for Maya

This "Trinity Tuesday", we are asking for the support from you, our generous community.

Food security is a priority for us at One City, and we are continuing to find a way to meet that need within our day-time program.

In order to provide cooked meals to our community, we require a commercial kitchen that follows fire, health and building codes and regulations. Some renovations have already begun, but we require the full funding to successfully complete the project.

Although many generous groups and churches have stepped up over the last month to donate meals and their time in preparing food, and we have found temporary solutions to cook offsite, this is not sustainable in the long-term.

We have already received an incredible $168,775 in donations already from the community, including the United Way of Peterborough & District, private donors, churches and Swish Peterborough. In order to complete this project, we need to meet our goal of $204,000
