Switching a puppy 🐶 or kitten 🐱 to a raw diet depends on their growth stage, but generally, it’s safe to start transitioning at around 8 to 12 weeks of age. At this point, their digestive systems are usually mature enough to handle the change, and they are beginning to wean off their mother's milk. 🌱
Here are some guidelines:
Puppies: Typically, you can start transitioning them to a raw diet once they are around 8 weeks old. Ensure they are on a balanced raw puppy formula 🦴 that meets their nutritional needs for growth.
Kittens: Kittens can be switched to raw around 8 weeks, but it’s crucial to ensure they are getting the right balance of nutrients like taurine 🧬, which is essential for their development.
When transitioning, do it gradually to avoid upsetting their stomachs 🍽️. Mix increasing amounts of raw food with their regular food over the course of 7 days. ⏳
