Hello all, and Happy New Year!

Welcome to 2025-

We have some good news again to share plus some updates that will be coming over the next couple of days regarding our Sphynx and their kittens.

To begin, the previously mentioned 4th kitten who was struggling with feline parvo has pulled through and has made an astonishing full recovery from the virus! However this also is unfortunately paired with the sad news that she still suffered a fairly bad secondary infection afterwards that may have permanently impacted one of her eyes. She is currently still under medical assessment and treatment for the infection in her right eye and may ultimately be permanently scarred.. though so far it appears to not be affecting her vision at all and she is growing steadily and has completely bounced back from her bout with Panleukopenia otherwise.

Because she contracted the virus still, despite overcoming it and is still receiving the vaccine along with her other routine shots, she is a potential carrier now, so that factor plus the potential for permanent scarring of her eye, those make her ineligible for the show circuit sadly. This is unfortunate for us as she is stunningly gorgeous with a wonderful personality and temperament, and is otherwise a well bred cat from our rather prestigious line.

To make folks aware, She will be available as a companion class Sphynx only, in the coming months, once she is finished with her first year vaccinations and is fully recovered from her spay and has cleared her other health checks.

I will be sharing photos of her and her other surviving sister with all applicable information in a separate set of posts along with updates about said second remaining kitten who was actually the only one out of this litter to completely avoid contracting and suffering from the virus at all.

It is with a heavy heart I have to announce that The kittens were exposed to feline Parvo and we have lost three to it despite our best efforts and one more is currently still not in the clear. We suspect that the vets office had a carrier cat unknowingly in their office prior to the kittens first exam and first round of vaccines as they all came down sick about 10 days after their first shots. We are a bio secure cattery and do not interact with other cats or allow people to visit or handle the kittens during their most vulnerable stages of life so it is mind boggling how else they could have been exposed. I am devastated as is the rest of my family at the loss we have been experiencing and as a result we will be absent from updates or availability listings for the time being until we can confidently share good news again.

We lost a kitten to fading syndrome due to a first time momma not knowing quite what to do.. I'm feeling a tad guilty that I wasn't prepared to step in and help feed the kitties when I noticed one seemed to not be getting fed or wasn't feeding as well as the others.. now I have a 2 hour timer set so I can monitor feeding sessions and make sure the remaining 4 latch and get enough mother's milk.. going to go pick up some supplement and bottles later when everything opens just in case however..

Valentyna is a first time mom and has some of the instincts... she does clean them and encourage them to go potty and she tries to lay down properly to let them feed.. but she also lays on them and doesn't understand what their cries mean and doesn't retrieve them when they manage to wiggle out of their bed away from her and eventually start crying for help.

Such is the way of this life it seems.
