Did you ever want a puppy but didn't have time for the first most essential 16 weeks of training? Bulleit and Johnny are well on their way to being well-trained pups. These pups come with a great foundation and also additional training support to ensure that they are settled into their new homes.
Training Milestones Achieved @ 12 weeks:
1. Sleeping in crates at night with the door closed.
2. Sometimes asking to go outside for the bathroom. Working great on a schedule of going out every 2 to 3 hours and more frequent after mealtime.
3. Comfortable on a leash and beginning to learn heel.
4. Exposed to lots of situations including riding in the car, going into stores and visiting a high school class.
5. Know the sit command really well and will sit when excited to get out of their x-pen.
6. Have a very gentle mouth when playing and taking treats.
7. Come when name is called most of the time.
8. Staying close to me when on walks out in the yard off leash.
Training underway:
1. Heeling while on leash.
2. Consistent recall when called.
3. Socialization to new scenarios and other dogs.
4. Down command - currently they are easily lured into down but not yet doing it without lure.
5. Quiet command - they do bark when excited, when new people arrive at the home and in the morning when they are still in their pen and everyone is starting to get up in the household.
They have been raised in our home with a lot of handling and loving care. They are a herding breed that needs their daily exercise and companionship but they are capable of being super chill when their needs are met. If you are active and need a sidekick this is the dog for you! Typically a mini aussie shepard has a life span of 12 to 15 years - the Koolie averages 18 years making this cross your companion for many years to come. The Koolie is descended from breeding with the Australian Dingo making the Koolie a very durable and hardy breed.
Mother - Sadie is a Purebred Australian Koolie born in Australia from Hunterslea Koolies.
Father - Whiskey is a Purebred Registered Mini Australian Shepard from Soul Ridge Farm
These pups will be small medium sized dogs about 25 to 35 lbs - both parents under 16.5” at the front shoulder. They are well suited as active family dogs, for dog sports, tricks/obedience, and working stock. Both the Koolie and the Mini Australian Shepherd are intelligent loyal dogs who enjoy a variety of outdoor activities and love to be with their people. They are easily trained and benefit from basic obedience training, socialization, and daily exercise/activity. With the right training they are also suitable as therapy dogs and love to please people. Sadie (mom) loves to visit at the senior’s home and is a level 2 trained therapy dog. Despite her love of running when she is outdoors she is calm when indoors - a trait common to the Koolie breed.
Puppies come with 1st and 2nd vaccines, microchip, deworming and a puppy pack including transition food, blanket with mom’s scent, chew toys (nyla bone and kong), collar and leash. They are raised in our home with lots of family interaction and other pets around. All potential buyers will be screened and homes must be approved prior to receiving your puppy. References may be requested. Delivery may also be possible.
