Our little girl completed her first day of preschool! So proud of her. She was brave and observant, exploring new things and learning her marker word with a few basic tasks. When you live far from town like we do, it's important for us to invest the early weeks with socialization and experiences. During this period, puppies are the most receptive to the world around them and this can set the foundation for a well-adjusted and confident adult.

There is a lot of new experiences you can provide your puppy, without risking their health. You need to be very careful about exposing them to public environments when they are still susceptible to disease. Always protect your little one but don't hold back on giving them as many new experiences as possible - people, sounds, smells, new environments. We even brought her into Canadian Tire while we shopped! Make the most out of this window, up to 12-14 weeks of age, and you'll be happy you did 💚🐾

Our dogs have been absolutely obsessed with stews lately. They are currently waiting patiently in the kitchen for this batch to cool 🤎 Even if you only supplement a couple meals a week for your dog with real, whole foods - I encourage everyone to do this! It doesn't have to be a fancy raw feeding schedule... you can find inexpensive bags of carrots/potatoes or some greens and meat on sale when possible. It doesn't have to be perfect. Your dogs health and longevity are impacted by their diet, just like us, and real food make a big difference. 🥩🥬

This might sound a little crazy to some, but this is actually BEAR! 🐻 We supplemented the meat here with easy veggies we just grew in the garden this Summer - potatoes, carrots, peas and swiss chard. Bear is an incredibly fatty meat and this is so good for the dogs skin and coat, especially as we enter these colder dry months.

We have some exciting news 📢

We're patiently waiting to see if Tove had a successful breeding a couple weeks ago. She's 3 years old now and although she's been an Auntie twice... these would be her first little ones!

In celebration of some potential puppies in November... I thought I'd share some photos of Tove as a pup. She is a total angel. Anyone that meets her comments on how gentle, kind and cute she is. Very lucky to have her as part of our family.

One thing the dogs love -- berry picking time! We are fortunate to have thousands of Saskatoon bushes around our home. We like to freeze a bunch to add as a supplement to the dogs meals. Similar to blueberries, these guys are full of antioxidants. You may even see "Saskatoon berries" listed as an ingredient on some of the quality kibbles out there!

We make sure to sneak in some family picking before the bears get the rest 🐻 🫐

When we arrived home, Sassa searched for the puppies at the vehicle and we could tell she was upset but had a good idea what had happened. After being in Mama mode for so long, we finally have her back again and she's acting like a puppy with her own toys and cuddles in bed with us. Feels so good.

I want to thank everyone who met with us and just know that I'm thinking about all of you and missing them!

I've shortened this clip to only a few seconds for the sake of the family and the kiddos but I have to share their story. We learned that they would actually be surprising their children with this puppy after losing their 13 year old Golden last Summer. I feel so unbelievably fortunate to have witnessed this first meeting and was instantly tearing up 🥹 Just seeing our little puppies face curl up into a smile, knowing she would be getting so much love... this is priceless to us.

What a beautiful and healing experience a new puppy can bring into our lives! 🐾👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

We are finally on our way back home and can't wait to hold our dogs again. I was suuure feeling it when I was picking up the puppy bowls and toys and realizing they were really gone now... but I've been so lucky to receive updates already and had some teary eyes knowing they are in good hands! Enjoy these puppy moments because they grow so fast 🧡

It's the beginning of the end for us here. Only 4 more days at home with the puppies... 🕓

We have the same late night routine - we clean the house, prep their bedtime run with a fresh blanket, toys and p*e pads, then we start a show while rotating puppies up on the couch for cuddles. They all get their last bits of playtime out of their system. Tonight when we placed them inside their run, they all put themselves to bed like this and we just stood there looking at them for a while. 🥲 I feel very fortunate to have had them in our lives. Goldens have made my life so much richer and we are both better for it 🐾😌

Want to see how you tucker out 5 puppies that need to spend most of the day in the vehicle? Zoomies at every stop! 🏃‍♂️🌾

We left at 7:30am and home at 7:00pm and the puppies did fantastic. Not single accident in the truck if you can believe it. Puppies are so predictable - keep them on a schedule of food, play, potty breaks, lovin' and naps. ❤️

Vet visit went great! We had a new vet that left us feeling like she was the best we've ever had. We are hard to please when it comes to the care and attention of our dogs, so this was a great feeling. Puppies had their first set of shots and a great physical with the vet. We received a healthy stamp of approval 🙌🏻
