Learn more about me below! 💙⬇️
Hi, I'm Marvin! I had a pretty lonely and rough start to life but I’m learning that people are my favourite and they bring out the soft and goofy sides of me. I’m super smart and am eager to learn all the things I need to know to keep growing to be the best boy I can be. I love to be close to my people I will look to you for guidance as a navigate the world and will follow you anywhere you go so if you need a best friend who will be loyal and playful and join you on all of your adventures I am your guy. I am food motivated and so training me will be easy for you and yummy for me!! I could really benefit from some more training as well as more exposure to other dogs as I’m still somewhat unsure what to do and how to react when I meet them. I love walks and do really well on the slip lead, I have lots of energy so keeping up to you won’t be a problem. I also love playing in the back yard with my foster sister and fetching my bouncy ball. Chewing on bones while I sit beside you or curl up on your feet is my favourite way to relax at the end of the day.
If I sound the the guy for you please fill out an application and the nice people who have helped me so much will be happy to help bring us together! ❤️
Marvin was found as an abandoned puppy at approx. 5 1/2 to 6 months old at one of the communities that we work with. Marvin is a shepherd cross, approx. 8 months old! He is dog selective and requires proper introductions - he gets along well with foster dog (Shepherd and Pomeranian) but he's unsure of new dogs. He's good with kids age 12 and up as he is still engages in play biting and excited biting and might be to much for younger children.

Good morning everyone! Mousey hopes your holiday feasts are as delicious as hers! She loves food almost as much as she loves her foster brother, Gin’s, tail! And especially breakfast in bed 😻
Did you know that most CH kittens are euthanized needlessly due to lack of understanding of the condition? Mousey would like to help change that! Follow her @mouseasaurusrex to help her save the lives of other CH cats ❤️
Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH) is a neurological condition that occurs in cats and dogs, characterized by underdevelopment (hypoplasia) of the cerebellum, the part of the brain responsible for fine motor skills, balance, and coordination.
Animals with CH are often affectionately referred to as “wobbly” cats or dogs due to their distinctive movements.
It’s crucial to understand that cats with Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH) are not in any pain and can live full, happy, and healthy lives. Here are some key points to emphasize:
Key Facts About CH in Cats
1. Pain-Free Condition:
• CH does not cause pain or suffering. Cats with CH experience motor coordination challenges but are otherwise healthy and content.
2. Normal Life Expectancy:
• Cats with CH can live as long as any other cat, provided they receive appropriate care and attention based on their individual needs.
3. Non-Contagious:
• CH is not a transmissible condition; it cannot spread to other animals or humans.
4. Adaptability:
• Cats with CH often learn to adjust to their condition as they grow, developing their own ways to navigate their environment.
• Many CH cats do not require significant additional care, though accommodations might be necessary for severe cases.
5. Severity Levels:
• The degree of CH can vary, ranging from mild (slight unsteadiness) to severe (difficulty walking or standing).
6. Care Requirements:
• Mild CH: These cats might need little to no extra care.
• Severe CH: May require a safe, padded environment, assistance with feeding, or help with
Th am Thank You
On this very special day, please take a moment to recognize and thank this very special person. Alayna Astle our president is the very reason we are able to do what we do. Merry Christmas! Here are some words from some of your team!
If Alayna has touched your life, please leave her a comment to let her know how much she means to you as well!
Alayna and I have been with Hope Lives Here from the very beginning, and together, we've shared the highs and lows that come with animal rescue. Being the president of an animal rescue isn’t easy. It means taking late-night calls from people threatening to abandon their pets unless someone steps in. It means managing the emotional toll while also striving to keep everyone involved—volunteers, and fosters—supported and motivated.
Alayna, though, is one of the strongest people I know. She fights for the abandoned, the forgotten, and the neglected with a fierce determination that few others can match. Hope Lives Here is her passion, and I know that if I wasn’t doing this rescue work beside her, I wouldn’t want to do it at all.
Thank you, Alayna, for standing up for the animals who need to be safe and loved. You are a true advocate, and your dedication means the world to us all. The impact you’ve had on so many lives—human and animal alike—cannot be measured.
You should always know just how much you and this rescue mean to each and every one of us. 🐾❤️ - Jolene
Alayna your greatest gift is being able to listen . You listen not just with your ears but with your heart and as a result are able to react in some of the most difficult situations with care and from a loving place and your ability to support things or in my case my hair brain ideas you have always supported maybe laughed but still support you trust fosters judgement and support them thru the good bad and the ugly .I can't thank you enough for the love and support of not just the critters but the people as well. - Kim
I don't think people can
These sweet twins come as a pair, and it's always a fun game trying to tell them apart - just look for their subtle differences! 😻
Both have stunning marbled coats and beautiful, expressive eyes that will melt your heart. They’ve been in our care for almost TWO YEARS, which is honestly a bit shocking considering how well-behaved and affectionate they are. They’re just two loving souls who need a patient, kind human(s) to call their own. 💕
If you’re a cat lover looking for a pair of sweethearts to welcome into your home, Millie and Mika are ready to meet you! 🏡

Pebbles Needs Your Help, Read His Story Below! ⬇️
Pebbles was a community cat who spent years roaming one a neighborhood. While the neighbors ensured he was fed, no one opened their doors to him, so he lived exclusively outdoors, exposed to countless dangers.
Last week, Pebbles showed up at our volunteer’s doorstep in broad daylight—something unusual for this sweet, affectionate boy who typically only appeared after dark. It was immediately clear something was wrong. His hips were missing large patches of fur, and he had severe wounds on his back end that were oozing infection.
The volunteer reached out to us, and we rushed Pebbles to the vet.
What We Discovered:
• Under sedation, the vet found that Pebbles had likely been attacked by a large dog or coyote. The attack happened. over a week earlier, allowing a serious infection to spread under his skin.
• The infection had killed a significant amount of tissue on his back end, which had to be surgically removed. With limited tissue left, the vet worked hard to close his wounds as best as possible.
Now, Pebbles faces a long road to recovery. He is receiving antibiotics, wound care, and lots of love. While he is comfortable and pain-free, healing from such severe injuries will take time and resources.
Here’s How You Can Help Pebbles Heal:
• Donate: E-transfer to [email protected] or contact us for details on contributing directly to the veterinary office.
• Share: Even if you can’t donate, sharing this post can help us reach Pebbles’ future family and supporters!
Once Pebbles is fully healed, he will never return to the streets. Instead, he’ll go up for adoption to find the loving, indoor home he deserves.
Thank you for helping Pebbles on his journey to a better life! ❤️
