We are here at the Christmas Pet Market—2170 Albert St, at the corner of 14th Ave—from 10-4pm! Make sure to stop by and support all the local vendors, rescues, and organizations!

Zack & Chewy are making their 2nd appearance, hoping to meet their forever family. Bobby Lu is our Syrian ham-bassador! While he isn’t available for adoption, his daughters are, and he’s helping us be a voice for change in the hamster care in the prairies.

Well! Yesterday morning we woke up to an unexpected phone call. We thought it was a potential adopter asking for more information (which is normal)…only to be frozen in place when the gentleman introduced himself as a CBC journalist. 🥲

Somehow, some way, CBC saw the post we made the other day about our reasons behind closing our doors as a rescue. Admittedly, I was not prepared to do a phone interview, let alone having it broadcasted live. Anxiety got the best of me right at the beginning (when I lost my train of thought lol) and at the end (when I forgot how to properly say ‘thank you for having me’). 😂 Shlok and Danny, I really am so grateful for the opportunity! 😍🥹

We hope we were able to shed some light on the behind-the-scenes difficulties that all animal rescues are facing here in Saskatchewan in the segment, and the importance of our goal as a pet breeder in Canada. Jumbo Joe and Soda Pop have new families now, but Sid the Kid, Bobby Lu, Zack, and Chewy are honoured to have been mentioned on the radio!

We’re feeling a bit melancholy right now. As most of you know, Zack and Chewy have been with us since July 2022. In that time they’ve only had one application, and it’s because of Chewy (although it’s not his fault).

Chewy isn’t as social and friendly as Zack. He knows his boundaries and isn’t afraid to stand up for himself, which makes the pair unsuitable for children or beginner piggy owners. That, however, doesn’t mean Chewy NEVER wants to snuggle.

Zack and Chewy will be at the Christmas Pet Market this Saturday. This will be our last attempt at finding their forever family, so it’s possible that this will be our final snuggle together. It’s bittersweet: we want them to live their best life, spoiled and loved; but selfishly, we’ve grown fond of their presence.

Come the new year, we will no longer be calling ourselves a rescue. With the way the world is going, we just don’t have the excess money to handle the burden, especially without support. We will of course do what we can when there are no other options when a situation arises, but we want to focus on upgrading our hamstery and meeting NAHA’s ethical breeding standards.

With the Christmas Pet Market approaching fast, Black Friday kicking butt (I work retail), and seasonal depression making its yearly debut, we haven’t had a lot of spare time to post much.

Bobby Lu’s been helping us stay focused, driven, and grounded to reality. Did you know we’ll be selling our homemade hamster mix at the event on the 6th? We’re trying our best to get the nutritional balances right, but boy is it frustrating! Of course, the hammies aren’t protesting—they’re always more than happy to be our samplers. 😂🐹

Sussie was the most recent hamster to go to her forever home! She was actually the very first one chosen from the K-Pop Demon Hamsters. 😊 Congratulations, not-so-little one! 🐹💕

Rumi found her forever home back on the beginning of November! 😍 She was chosen by a family whose previous hammies came from us. Congratulations, little one! I know you’re getting all the love and treats you deserve! 🐹❤️

Our Story

We are primarily a pet breeder based in Regina, Saskatchewan. Our focus currently goes towards breeding the M. auratus (Syrian) hamster species, and Procambarus crayfish species.

We also welcome a wide variety of tropical fish, other hamster species, and small birds if they need a new place to stay, or will help them find new homes if we are unable to meet their needs here.

Our goal is to introduce, guide, and educate others who share the passion we have for all living creatures. We are always happy to answer questions and give advice—and the resident pets never turn down an opportunity to make new friends!
