Wascana Dog Club will be holding a fundraiser garage sale on May 3rd and 4th, 2024 at 16 Kingsmere Avenue, White City. The sale will start at 8:00 AM on both days and run until activity slows down.

The Grooming Room will also be on site on Saturday, May 4th from approximately 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM doing toe nail trims for $10.00 per pet.

Please note the specific considerations in White City for the event:

Please be courteous to all residents in the RM of Edenwold and the Town of White City and ensure you are not driving or parking on grass and/or block driveway access.

Community Safety Officers from both municipalities will be out on patrol during the weekend to help advise and keep things moving.

Specific considerations in White City for the event:

o Unless otherwise noted below, please only park on one side of the street to keep roadways open for emergency vehicles - in most areas in White City please park on the same side as EVEN HOUSE NUMBERS
o LOTT ROAD EAST: Please park on the NORTH SIDE of Lott Road East (along ODD HOUSE NUMBERS) - please do not drive or park on the concrete pedestrian pathway.
o MOTHERWELL DRIVE: Please park on the
EAST AND SOUTH SIDE of Motherwell Drive (along EVEN HOUSE NUMBERS) - please do not drive or park on the concrete pedestrian pathway.
o FAIRWAY CRESCENT: This area will be a one-way road for the weekend. When entering Fairway Crescent, STAY RIGHT and park on the same side as EVEN HOUSE NUMBERS around the entire crescent - please do not drive in the opposite flow of traffic.
• EMERALD CREEK DRIVE & ROAD: This area will be a one-way road for the weekend. When entering the Emerald Creek area, STAY RIGHT and park on the same side as EVEN HOUSE NUMBERS around the entire crescent

Cost: 20$, payable in CASH at time of appointment. A photo will be provided via e mail prior to the holiday

Thank you to the exhibitors, and their dogs, who came out today to support the Club’s 3rd and final Conformation Sanction Match. It was an enjoyable day! Thank you also to Lori-Ann Fischer for judging the match and for providing valuable assistance to the handlers.

Of course all the dogs are winners but unfortunately there can only be one Match winner; those were:

Best Altered in Match: Whitcam's Jewel Thief – Felony (Doberman Pinscher)

Best Graduate in Match: Satika's Born to Sparkle - Sparkle (Shiba Inu)

Best Puppy in Match: Carsher's Naughty Girl - Ellie (Golden Retriever)

Best Baby Puppy in Match: Amberlyn's Donayne Blue Clear Sky - Skylar (Shetland Sheepdog)

Best in Match: Valubal Keeping up Appearances - Hyacinth (Old English Sheepdog)

Also, thank you to Mindy Van Leur for taking photographs. That was a nice touch!

That wraps up the required number of sanction matches as per CKC. The Club is now eligible to hold all breed conformation shows.

If you have a mixed breed dog, you can get a Canine Companion Number.  It allows mixed and purebred dogs, as well as breeds not recognized by the CKC, to participate in the CKC Performance Events such as Agility, Obedience and Rally Obedience Trials.

Mark your calendars!!

The Club's third and final Conformation Sanction Match will be held Sunday, October 22, 2023.

Well known and respected professional handler, Lori-Ann Fischer, will be judging the match. Lori-Ann has also offered to provide some handling tips after the match to those who entered. If you're just starting out in conformation, this is for you!

The Premium List will be out in the next couple of weeks.

Beginner Level 1 and Adolescent Classes have been posted to the Club's website. Classes start the week of September 11th. Tickets for these classes will go on sale Tuesday, August 1st at 9:00 AM. Hopefully we will also be adding a puppy class to this session.

The day was filled with lots of laughs and wonderful people enjoying their beautiful dogs. I had amazing ring stewards and all of the club members were so gracious and kind. We are very happy to announce that our Club has been honored to receive the Consumer Choice Award for Excellence for 2023. Only one for each category is given out. We are the business named for this year in the Pet Training division.

We should be extremely proud of our club, our members and all our volunteers. It is only the hard work we put in that results in awards like this.

WDOC will be offering obedience mat time starting Saturday, September 24, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

It's a good time to come out and practice for the October obedience trials. You can simply practice on your own or have someone put you through a run.

Crates are preferred when you're not working your dog as we try to get everyone involved.

Members: No Charge
Non-Members: $10.00 drop in
