Newman 💙

Most of the time, Newman comes in as a blank canvas and I am left with creative freedom to do whatever I want! I've been grooming this boy since he was a puppy and he is an absolute pleasure to work with 😇 Today I did a full body hand scissor to even out his coat regrowth but keep his length - his regrowth length is almost 1 inch. I gave him mock poodle feet (short scissor blended feet) and a very short beard. This style will grow out beautifully on Newman and is practical for mud/snow/winter!

Pumba has been coming to me since he was a baby Warthog! He has some dermatological issues that are persistent year round.
Keeping Pumba on a bi-weekly schedule for grooming has proven to eliminate most of these issues from flaring up and to keep his hygene spectacular !!

Tuco is such a well behaved boy for his nail trims!

When Tuco was adopted into his forever home he had zero previous grooming expierence and overgrown painful nails!

Employee of the month goes to my Niece Ashtyn

Ashtyn deep cleaned my whole salon today !
-Washed windows
-Scrubbed baseboards and the floor behind the tub
-Swept up my messes
-Steam mopped
-Washed my towel rack
-Cleaned shampoo bottles
-Folded and put away towels

Ashtyn has been fond of the salon environent since she was a baby. When shes visiting Grandma's, she comes ready to work 👍 She has been learning proper brushing and combing techniques and how to use the dryer. She loves hands on learning and observing, she's always curious about what my hands are up to.

Today I really didn't need Ashtyns help, my schedule was simple and I had dogs who work best with minimal handling so I didn't want her to interfere. I let her know before my day started that if she wanted to be in the salon with me she had to clean and stay out of my bubble. I had an opportunity to show, and to explain to Ashtyn the less desirable but important part of pet grooming. I dont want kids in and out of my salon, I have 11 neices and nephews who frequent the "salon" and there are boundaries upon entering - most of which are a wave through the window. Distractions and sharp scissors do not mix !!
Ashtyn knows my rules and she knows my tolerance for interference and space (it's 0 btw) She listens very well and absorbs everything I can teach her, we work well together.
As long as Ashtyn wants to keep learning and growing she will always be welcome to shadow me, even if some days that shadow is her scrubbing baseboards in a corner. I hope Ashyn's love for grooming continues so I can teach her everything I know 🥰

Scrapper is looking very Dapper ❤️
He is the sweetest boy in the world and LOVES his spa days. I whisper in his ear and tell him hes my faviourate every time he comes 🤭

When Scrapper gets dropped off, his owner hands him over and he likes to sit on my shoulder and watch out the windows until mom's car is out of sight before I start his groom.
Scrapper is a senior and has some health issues that need special attention during his groom. His breathing issues make it very easy for him to inhale water during his bath. I gently massage his face with a damp cloth lathered in tearless face shampoo and I rinse with a damp cloth as well. scrapper never has running water anywhere near his face where it will cause panic or danger! He is calm for his bath, as long as he can be perched up on my arm when the sprayer is on. I dry Scrapper very slowly with ear plugs in, he prefers the dryer on low, without the nozzle.

His spa time is usually around an hour start to finish. In this hour I am able to work slow enough to keep him calm and meet his needs, but fast enough to get him in and out and comfortable at home as soon as possible 🏡❤️

👻 Scrapper always picks his own bandana after his groom, he is not complete without one!

*Lacey recieves a deshed with her groom, her natural coat sheds like crazy !

Lacey despises grooming, it's in her DNA ! Over the last couple years I have kept her grooming routine consistent and worked hard to increase her confidence on the table. Her owner has put in work at home to desensitize her to sounds and touch in a familiar environment.
Lacey may never love her grooming, but she trusts me and will tolerate the process. She was muzzle trained for some aspects of her groom because her fearful reaction to most things was to snap.
Lacey has worked hard to overcome these fears and has learned to controll her reactions. I have learned her sensitivities and triggers and adpated her grooming process to fit her needs.
Lacey is now muzzle free for grooming and expresses her frustration through her body language, rather than her mouth 👏❤️

Oakley and Oscar's owner requested a trim only today! She wants their ears to grow out and leave them longer for winter. I trimmed their feet, sanitary area, face, and lightly hand scissored their body to remove any fly-away's.
During the winter months their appointments will be more frequent and they will be pre-booked every 6 weeks to maintain their longer coat.
The texture of their coat is fine and soft and it tangles easily. Keeping these boys on a schedule is a must to keep them tangle free, and warm 🤭

I can't remove/disable messenger and I don't actively monitor posts and comments inquiries. For my sanity and lack of organizational abilities - ALL business relations must be conducted through square.
*There's no other reliable option to get in contact with me than to book online ! *

🐾I know online booking can be confusing and frustrating - Please be patient and attentive when booking to ensure your reservation is completed. You can make a reservation by clicking "Book Now" above or by scanning the QR code posted below.

🐾To know that you successfully completed your reservation you will receive a text message with your appointment details from Square immediately after booking. Please reply "Thanks" to that number when you recieve the automated message.
*Sending a text reply ensures me that your contact information is correct and messages are being delivered. It also allows me permission to initiate conversation with new clients via text message.

🐾Automated text messages have 2 access links.
One you can click to manage your appointments and profile if you need to make changes to your reservation. The other is an intake form which is usually overlooked and not filled out. It's not manditoy, but it is helpful for me to make sure you reservation time and quote are appropriate.
*It's very helpful to save this number as a contact in your phone so automated reminders are not confused for spam or ignored and you always know how to reach out if you need to! *

🐾 My online schedule is open 2 weeks in advance to accept new clients/bookings. If there are no appointments available online I'm fully booked and you can check back at a later date to find upcoming openings.

🐾 Credit Card on file is safe and secure and it is mandatory to book. There is no hold of funds, or charges without authorization.
*If an appointment is no call/no show a minimum $50 charge will be processed to the card on file - these terms are agreed to when booking.*

🐾 My hours are 9-5 on Tuesday's and Thursday's, 9-12 every other Wednesday, and 9-1 on Saturdays. My hours online are strictly set but it am flexible and very acomodating when pre-booking established clientele !

🐾If you would like to set up a meet and greet and see my space prior to committing to an appointment please book a consult!

🐾My pricing online is a minimum quote and is not a guarentee of service costs. Every pet's grooming requirements are unique and pricing varies depending on frequency, cut, coat, behavour, and time. I try my best to give an accurate cost of services at check in. My final prices are all inclusive and non-negotable.

🐾 I offer professional services and am not a budget chop-shop. I work one on one to meet each pets individual grooming needs in a quiet and calm space. I expect clients to keep their pet within an 8 week schedule and to follow up accordingly with any health or behvaoural issues I note during grooming. My career is my passion it's not just a job. I know I have high expectations of my clients, and I want my clients to have the same expectations of me. I'm not arrogant. I am seasoned in this industry and I know what kind of clients I want to work with, and attract!

🐾 Any pet's behaviour, health, hygene, and overall wellbeing is an owners responsibility to maintain and to be transparent about. Protecting the health and safety of clients and myself is my top priority.
I have the right to refuse service under any circumstances at any time.

⛔️I do not service animals with a known bite history. Any possibility of aggression must be disclosed prior to your appointment. I am able and willing to work with most negative behavours but I need to be aware of any dangers before my face is 6 inches from it - Please, be honest!

⛔️I do not tolerate abuse or neglect of any kind - towards any animal or myself.

⛔️I do not remove severe/pelted matting. It causes stress and is painful to remove. The list of possible injuries is endless and inevitable. Severe matting is avoidable and inexcusable, it's neglect.

⛔️I do not accept pets with odvious signs of fleas, lice, or any contagious illnesses at check in - Entrance into the salon with any evidence of such will result in immediate dismissal and a $70 charge to cover sanitation/extermination. Please assess your pet before you come.

I think an update on this page is way past due. There's alot of speculation and questions surrounding my business and how I operate. I hope this post offers some insight and clarification as to why I am not active on this page !

Social media can be very beneficial to businesses, but it takes alot to manage and monitor. My time outside of work is spent being a wife and mother, and my time in the salon is spent working and keeping up with the demands of running a business. Social media has very little influence on my business and I simply don't have a need to advertise...
I enjoy taking pictures and sharing posts but keeping active on social media for business representation consumes alot of unpaid time and energy. My time and enegy is better spent improving myself rather than my online following on here. I do plan to start adding updates and photos to this page regularly going forward. But, I need some time to clean up my page and to make sure all the information is acurate and relevant.

It's no secret that communication is extremely overwhelming for me. For 8 years I tried to offer booking through messenger, text, phone calls and social media. Over time all these avenues of communication became impossible for me to me manage, I was unreliable and clients were frustrated. It took me nearly 2 years to recoup from postpartum and overwhelming burnout. My business was not a priority, and I had to make some drastic changes to continue. I spent a whole year testing and navigating Square to make sure that it would work for my needs, and for my clients. Square is not perfect and neither am I. I still struggle with communication and that is something that unfortuinately I can't change. Since using self serve booking it has significantly improved my client relations and my ability to grow a reputable business! Square allows to me manage my entire business in one app and it eliminates hours of daily communication, paperwork, and stress.

🔊 I will be making a seperate post that will CLEARLY outline how to contact me, how to use square booking, and salon policies. I hope this post answers any questions and offers clarification on how I conduct my business. I will pin that post to the top of the page so it is always visible to help future clients make an informed decision about who they are choosing for their pets grooming needs.

This isn't my first facebook comeback, and it likely won't be my last... If I am ever silent on here I'm likely just overwhelmed and taking a break.
I can assure you I will still be booking online and working as usual. Social media does not fuel my business, I do - my priority will always be keeping my tank full.

Just an update on my absence, I am still actively open and working.

In January I pre-booked my schedule to the end of April with the intent of adding in new clients along the way, and I did... This was not working as I had hoped and I really needed to take some time to figure out what I wanted the future of my business to be and how to achieve that. This time allowed me to transition back from maternity leave to part time and to find a work/life balance that worked for our family. I have honed my schedule to be as productive as possible to make room for additional clients. I have also spent many hours setting up online booking and payment. Communication is a difficult thing for me, and clearly that is never going to change (unapologetically me) I am hoping this will aleve any frustrations in the booking process.

Booking an appointment will be online exclusive and require a "Card on file" to be held. This card will not be charged unless an appointment is missed without 24 hour cancelation OR re-scheduled by you within 24 hours. This was nessecary to ensure my income, and to make sure when someone commits to booking they respect my time and my career.

Just like every other product and service , grooming costs have risen drastically - and are still considered low in our area. Since the beginning of the pandemic my product costs alone have gone up an average of 37%, and that is just a small portion of my rising business expenses. My pricing reflects business costs, expierence, quality of products and tools, and time spent. Prices online are an estimate only and may vary depending on services completed.

Please be patient as I work out any issues with the booking system - I am learning with you !

⚠️ 📢 If you are a regular client with an upcoming *pre-booked* appointment this will not affect your booking - I will set up your client profile in the salon and integrate you into the system.

For those of you who do not know, I work exclusively one on one with every pet in my care to offer the best expierence possible in a small, intimate low volume salon. I love what I do and I love owners who share the same passion as me towards their animals. I don't have a magic wand and I am not the best fit for everyone.
A majority of clients I see every 2-6 weeks and I notice many changes in behaviour and health, I encourage owners to be aware and proactive about treating their pet. I want your pet to live a happy, healthy, fulfilling life and for me to be a small happy part of it. I want clients who want to work to achieve that for their pets. I don't want to be the reason for the shakey car ride, fear, and anxiety - I dont want you to think I am the problem when there is a solution. I cannot offer a wholesome expierence to your pet without a consistent grooming schedule, and dedicated efforts towards training and coat maintenance at HOME ! I am always willing to help you with tool suggestions to use for at home grooming and I have many connections in the pet industry - if I can't help you I know someone who can!

Please keep in mind when booking that your pet will be put on a pre-booked regular schedule and I am very strict about the clients I retain. As a professional in an industry with zero regulation or governing body I take my job very seriously and expect the same from my clients, consistency in grooming is key to preventing injuries for not just your pet, but myself. If commitment is hard for you, please explore other options and salons who may better fit your needs.

I look forward to this growth in my business and to better serve you and your pets !
