Just an update on my absence, I am still actively open and working.
In January I pre-booked my schedule to the end of April with the intent of adding in new clients along the way, and I did... This was not working as I had hoped and I really needed to take some time to figure out what I wanted the future of my business to be and how to achieve that. This time allowed me to transition back from maternity leave to part time and to find a work/life balance that worked for our family. I have honed my schedule to be as productive as possible to make room for additional clients. I have also spent many hours setting up online booking and payment. Communication is a difficult thing for me, and clearly that is never going to change (unapologetically me) I am hoping this will aleve any frustrations in the booking process.
Booking an appointment will be online exclusive and require a "Card on file" to be held. This card will not be charged unless an appointment is missed without 24 hour cancelation OR re-scheduled by you within 24 hours. This was nessecary to ensure my income, and to make sure when someone commits to booking they respect my time and my career.
Just like every other product and service , grooming costs have risen drastically - and are still considered low in our area. Since the beginning of the pandemic my product costs alone have gone up an average of 37%, and that is just a small portion of my rising business expenses. My pricing reflects business costs, expierence, quality of products and tools, and time spent. Prices online are an estimate only and may vary depending on services completed.
Please be patient as I work out any issues with the booking system - I am learning with you !
⚠️ 📢 If you are a regular client with an upcoming *pre-booked* appointment this will not affect your booking - I will set up your client profile in the salon and integrate you into the system.
For those of you who do not know, I work exclusively one on one with every pet in my care to offer the best expierence possible in a small, intimate low volume salon. I love what I do and I love owners who share the same passion as me towards their animals. I don't have a magic wand and I am not the best fit for everyone.
A majority of clients I see every 2-6 weeks and I notice many changes in behaviour and health, I encourage owners to be aware and proactive about treating their pet. I want your pet to live a happy, healthy, fulfilling life and for me to be a small happy part of it. I want clients who want to work to achieve that for their pets. I don't want to be the reason for the shakey car ride, fear, and anxiety - I dont want you to think I am the problem when there is a solution. I cannot offer a wholesome expierence to your pet without a consistent grooming schedule, and dedicated efforts towards training and coat maintenance at HOME ! I am always willing to help you with tool suggestions to use for at home grooming and I have many connections in the pet industry - if I can't help you I know someone who can!
Please keep in mind when booking that your pet will be put on a pre-booked regular schedule and I am very strict about the clients I retain. As a professional in an industry with zero regulation or governing body I take my job very seriously and expect the same from my clients, consistency in grooming is key to preventing injuries for not just your pet, but myself. If commitment is hard for you, please explore other options and salons who may better fit your needs.

Willow has been coming to me since I was grooming in my Mom's living room ! He is very unpredictable at times and will not hesitate to snap. I do what I can to keep Willow comfortable and myself safe during his groom - his haircut is never perfect but it gets done!
Off the table and out of the salon Willow is a fun, loving, quirky boy !

Stella came in for a puppy groom ! She had been to a larger salon before and unfortuinately her needs were not met and she got sent away for being aggressive. After talking with her owner we thought it would be best for Stella to go see a trainer before her next groom to address her behavour. Stella's issue was not aggression, it was her natural reaction to fear, this little lady was so scared and didn't know how to cope.
Stella didn't get a bath today because I was worried the water and dryer may be a trigger for her. Instead I worked on the basics of grooming ( Brushing, nails, trimming ) and building her confidence while being groomed and gaining trust in her groomer. It was such a great expierence to work with Stella's owner and to see her respond so well to her training cues. Stella took treats from me and allowed me to handle her without reaction ( BIG WIN) 🥰 I am so happy that in time Stella will grow to be a confident and happy lady no matter the situation she is in !

Incorperating nail trims into my daily schedule is becoming quite a challenge. I have tired hosting scheduled nail clinics over the last 2 years and unfortuinately no-shows were the demise of my efforts.
To switch things up I will be hosting 2 walk-in nail clinics a month for November and December. If attendance is successful this will be a service I can continue to provide for pets in Ridgetown and surrounding communities.
No appointment needed - any well tempered pets are welcome to attend !
