Some of you may be wondering… ‘Why would you switched from breeding one of the largest dog breeds out there to breeding one of the smaller breeds out there?’

Well there were a few reasons
1. ALLERGIES! My husband was actually allergic to our mastiffs and every time we had a litter he would not be able to breathe. All schnauzers are hypoallergenic therefore they do not bother my husband or my son’s allergies.

2. MY BACK. Big dogs mean big puppies. Taking photos, bathing puppies, vet visits, all of these things require me to lift not one puppy but multiple puppies, not small puppies but heavy big puppies. The toy/miniature schnauzer weighs ten to twelve pounds when fully grown. Personally I have been enjoying being able to easily pick them up to give them baths and the occasional haircut.

3. TRAINING. With every litter I would have one or two that just took longer to find homes. When this happened it would require more time & work on my part to start their training with the leash, the kennel and all basic commands. The toy/miniature schnauzer is a smart dog, training comes quickly and easily to them, so if I do not have the time to train a puppy they will quickly learn from their new owner.

In the end I realized I just couldn’t keep breeding such large breed dogs and if I wanted to keep breeding I would have to look at other breeds. In many ways, at this moment of our lives, the toy/miniature schnauzer is a better fit for my family.

She carries for red and white spotting. Red coloring in a toy/miniature schnauzer is very rare, especially here in Canada.

When you ask your husband to clean up after the puppies and he ‘drops the dishes’ so to speak so that he never has to do it again 🤣😂

He actually forgot to take out the roll of blue paper towel, yep, the puppies loved playing with it!

I have just finished reading this book and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed it! I had thought it would be absolute drudgery to read but it was actually fairly easy to understand and packed full of visual examples. I understand the genetics of the Merle alleles way better now.
If you are owned by a Merle puppy or a breeder of Merle’s I highly suggest this book.

All of my adults have found fantastic new homes, thank you everyone for your inquires and interest in adopting these three beauties.

I have decided to retire from breeding Mastiffs. Over the past seven years my husband’s allergies have gotten progressively worse, it is currently to the point where he has difficulty breathing when they are in the house for extended periods of time, it gets even worse whenever we have a litter of puppies.

These beautiful adults have found new 🏡👨‍👩‍👧‍👦’s to call their own. They are all well trained on and off the leash, they all know sit, stay, come and release. We use the last word as an indicator that we are done training and they can do whatever they want. For example, I get them to sit before I feed them their bone broth, I put the broth down and when I am good with their obedience I say release and they get up immediately to eat.

All have varying degrees of recall, Scarlett has the best which isn’t surprising since she is very eager to please, then Riker who always seems to lumber even when he’s running and lastly is Mara who always comes but takes her time.
They all do great with kids, cats and other dogs.

All could easily sn**ch food off the counters but none have ever done so, they do not jump on people ever and have no bad habits. They are quiet, gentle, loving giants. They are all great hair dogs, their sheer size intimidates most individuals.

They all stick very close to home when they are outside by themselves, if I let them all out at the same time they will wander.

All have been dna tested and are clear for any congenital health issues.

Scarlett, first two photos, is my fullblooded English Mastiff. She is a reverse brindle and daughter to Ferrin and Remus. DOB March 31/22

Riker is my huge daniff boy, he is 2nd generation 50/50 English Mastiff/European Great Dane. All black in color with a couple patches of white. He is very submissive, he will not take food from my hand even if I offer it to him. He doesn’t like the leash but he is excellent at obeying it. DOB December 5/21

Mara is my brindlequin beauty, pictures in the last photos, she is a first generation daniff. 50/50 English Mastiff/Great Dane, daughter to Lulu and Remus. DOB October 17/21

Sullivan and Shariss had a home all lined up but after three weeks of holding them the family is no longer answering my messages. Both have found a 🏡to call their own.

Sullivan is a lot like his dad, very submissive and lazy, he likely won’t take long to train but you will need patience as he is so submissive. He loves his kennel and is usually slow to get out.

Shariss is a lot like her mom, a little energetic when outside, affectionate and very eager to please. She has easily taken to kennel training.

They are both 75% English Mastiff and 25% European Great Dane.

🐾These two are the last of the daniffs that will ever be produced here at Marwood.

Marwood Mastiffs Scarlett, she is 👀 for a fabulous home to call her own. She knows all of the commands of sit, stay, come, heel and release. She is house trained and does well with kids and dogs of all ages. She has the energy level of her dad so she will walk or run with you for however long you wish and then be a couch potato as soon as she gets home.

Scarlett is a pure English Mastiff and should mature to 140 pounds by three years of age.

I care most about finding her the best 🏡 so when inquiring please tell me about your 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 and the 🏡 you can provide.

Marshall does excellent in the kennel and already knows the command of ‘Kennel’. Training will continue until he has found a 🏡 to call his own. His sister Shariss already has a home.

Marshall is the last Mastiff puppy I will ever breed, if you have ever wanted one of my puppies now is your last opportunity.

I had planned to keep him, he is everything I had hoped and worked for over the years. He has the health, look, temperament, and coloring that I have ever wanted however my husbands allergies have gotten worse over the years and so we have decided to find him a new 🏡
