Happy Friday! Meet Archie, a lovely long haired orange boy who paid a visit to us yesterday for his neuter. Archie was brought to the clinic in the summer as a youngster after being found alongside the road, and he was lovingly adopted by a staff members family! He is one cool dude receiving some laser therapy after surgery to help heal a bit faster (hence his eye wear), and we sure like his cone alternative to help keep his incision site safe! Wishing him a fast recovery!

"This doesn't look like the pet store mom!?"

Honey made a visit for a checkup and vaccines last week and even though she was perhaps less than impressed with her destination, she was a stellar patient that we loved snuggling with!

Did you know that there are vaccinations recommended even for inside cats like Honey? Give us a call and we can help guide you and check your pets vaccination status to ensure they are up to date!

Happy Halloween!🎃

A few reminders to help keep this holiday safe and enjoyable for your pets:

🐈‍⬛Pets may be scared of some costumes and sounds on this frightful day, so be mindful to give them some safe spaces to avoid these encounters. This can be especially important when trick-or-treaters stop by this evening

🐈‍⬛Even though candy is tasty for us, it is not as wonderful for our pets. In particular chocolate, and sugar free candies which might contain xylitol can pose significant risk for toxicity. Be sure to keep these goodies out of reach

🐈‍⬛Sometimes little ghoulish gifts or toys are given out to kids, and while a less sweet alternative to candy, they may still look edible still to our furry friends which could lead to blockages or choking hazards

🐈‍⬛Lastly, while we have LOVED seeing all the pets so far in our contest, for some pets wearing a costume may not be enjoyable, so please be respectful of their wishes and perhaps celebrate with their favorite treat instead!

If your pet is a costume lover, don't forget to submit your pets photo on our post from earlier this week for a chance to win a prize. Winner will be drawn tomorrow afternoon before the end of the day!

Time for a feel good Friday story!

Meet Vincent! He is an almost 2 year old German Shorthaired Pointer who recently found himself not feeling well at all. Vincent's owners noted he was very lethargic, and not eating- which was concerning for an active dog who usually loves food! Diagnostics showed he had very high liver values, and a low platelet count. Vincent spent almost a week at a referral clinic getting care to try and get him feeling better.

Vincent stopped in today for his recheck and we are thrilled he is feeling much better! While he still has further to go getting back to normal, we are so happy he is improving and glad to be a part of his care.

If you feel your pet may not be acting quite like themselves, we are happy to see them and discuss any recommendations for next steps for them, so don't hesitate to call, even if you think it may be something small!

The image below is just a small list of the things they tackle, and do so with passion, knowledge and a smile. Please join us this week in celebrating them all, and learning a bit about how important they are!

Thankful Thursday! We are long overdue in recognizing the hard work of our summer students Charlotte and Jordyn. Both these lovely ladies have been willing to step up and help out in all aspects of the clinic during our busiest times. Please help us in saying thank you, and wishing them luck as they head off in a couple of weeks to continue their education!
