Inimai spent some time with Phoenix and so I’m looking forward to seeing her be a mom again in about 60 days. While Noushka is a very strict and no-nonsense parent, Inimai is beautifully nurturing right up till the day they go to their new families.

Noushka has had a good visit with Phoenix. Crossing fingers she’ll have babies end of June.

The paperwork from the UK is so gorgeous. Breeding and showing has been a thing in the UK, I think, for longer than Canada has been a country so its traditions are deeply established.
A Pedigree is the pet’s family tree. Phoenix is registered with a Russian registering body and my cats are all registered with the Cat Fanciers Association (and some with TICA as well). Before any of his offspring can be registered, I will have to register Phoenix and provide his proof of pedigree with the Cat Fanciers’ Association.

Time for an update on Phoenix. He arrived from Russia 9 days ago. Poor boy was quite upset by the trip. My last cat from Russia wasn’t phased by it but Phoenix was defensive and protective for the first few days. However that was clearly from the trip because his true self is beautifully sweet, affectionate and gentle. I’m falling in love again.

Phoenix is boarding the plane in Russia. He travels for 4 days! Arriving in Saskatoon on Friday morning. Irina (pictured) is a breeder who “develops” her cats with intent. Those intents are primarily to retain the traditional physical characteristics of Siberians. Shorter, dense coats in traditional colors, compact, rounded lines on large frames. Ear tufts, shape and placement are important to her as is the shape of the head. I love them because of their sweet, bold personalities.
You can see this on Phoenix as he appears to be trying to nuzzle Irina even through the kennel. I wonder if there’s a tear behind those sunglasses.

Such a cool adoption experience. Binx’s new family came to collect him on Saturday. While we were going over the paperwork and details, Binx snuck in between them on the couch and claimed them for his own! The adults can be tough to let go - this made it so much easier. Thanks Mackenzie and Braden for being the perfect people for my big boy Binx.

Phoenix will be arriving in a few weeks from the breeder in Russia. My girls are getting very anxious for him to come.
This boy has been living as a family member in a relative’s home. Ideally I would love for him to have a similar situation in Canada. Would love to hear from anyone who may be interested in fostering this lovely boy. He has a retired male for companionship in his current home so preference would be given to a home that is looking for a companion for their cat.
