Aoife and I received our fifth 195+ scoring double (ten dbls required under eight judges) at Wascana (Regina) under Judge Mary Monteith.

We missed a couple really nice scores and doubles under Judge Eva O'Keefe for a couple 'new' fixable morning misses for afternoon trial. Aoife likes to keep things interesting for me lol.

She is such an amazing Toller girl. ❤

She is currently 5th place in CKC overall (all-breed) standings!

This girl keeps giving 'Only In My Dreams' moments. We shall see what our future holds.

We are still awaiting her in-season arrival (please not yet Miss Aoife 🙏).

Aoife was also entered in the SKOC Obedience Trials this weekend.
While we were struggling with perfect Fronts and Finishes, Aoife and I managed to pull off another Grand Master Obedience Double. But the good with the bad 😜, Aoife also decided to give herself a good cleaning in her Group Sit/walk around and blew a 198.5 score 🫣.
Aoife is currently in 5th place ALL-Breed in Canada. Which is really nice, but there are a lot of upcoming November trials across Canada and anything can happen. I am expecting her 'fruit-bearing' season (hence cleaning herself in ring) to possibly be earlier than it should be and we may not be able to compete in some of our upcoming trials and that will be it for the year. Hoping Aoife holds off for couple weekends for our goal of a Top Ten finish! She is a very good girl and has had an awesome year. There are things that are just out of my control.

One of Aoife's pups, Featherz Tomato RigaTony *PCD aka Tony, and his owner Julie entered the SKOC obedience Trials this weekend and Q'ed in THEIR first-ever four consecutive trials.

They earned their CKC PCD (PreNovice Companion Dog) Title and continued with one leg towards their Novice Title and a High In Class!

Tony did very well considering a busy benching area and his first time at a trial!

I never shared a picture of Aoife's second MH pass back in July, weekend after the National Specialty. First was Brandon, MB and her third was MGDC just north of Winnipeg.

Finally got around to an official picture of Aoife, although this title was earned back in March.
She is proudly pointing out her new title and rosette!

Team Aoife qualified in another Master test this past weekend in MB.
Aoife was such a happy, hard-working girl this weekend and we had many compliments. Yes there were a few 'may we take her picture' 'may we pet your dog' moments.
Thank you to MGDA for a great weekend of test setups and easy-going hard working club members.
Last hunt tests of 2024 😪 within 18 hour drive, so hoping we get an earlier start to field work next year, than we did this year. Focus on Obedience for now.

Fair Dinkum - slang, Australia. : unquestionably good or genuine : excellent.

Aoife Q'ed in Master Hunt today in a nice challenging set up at Brandon Retriever Club.
She was one of four to Qualify out of 16 starters.
Our first time running a delayed triple with a diversion mark on water. I stayed calm and she did well.
Thank you to judges Ross Campbell & Axton Mihial for our Q and it was nice to hear compliments on our work from a few other seasoned handlers running. I thank all those who have supported us.
We do not have many plans for tests this year as we did not start training water until June this year (late start to summer here on the prairies). But Mark & I were asked to judge quite a while ago, so sort of had to run tests!

Featherz got mail!

Aoife - Master/Excellent Obedience Championship certificates plus her Rally Sporting Group/Breed obedience placements in Canada 2023.

Not much room in her scrapbook and I have attached a few extenders for binding.

Aoife is currently #4 Obedience dog in Canada out of All-Breeds (all obedience dogs in Canada).

We will likely not be trialing in Obedience for a few months as she will be playing in the field. But, we will see what may be available here or there!

After sharing my low of lows last weekend, I will share the good moments.
I will also say, thank goodness for my dog world friends and acquaintances that helped me hold it together for a couple days.
Aoife showed a bit of stress, which I am sure to have rubbed off on her in the ring with my difficult task of focus, at times. But Aoife was my phenomenal companion/worker. She was my ESA for a weekend 🙃.

Aoife rec'd her Obedience Trial Excellent and her Master Obedience Trial Championship on Sunday morning. Our goal for 2024 was finished in two weekends of trialing.

She is my dream toller girl.
Not sure of my obedience future as losing my upcoming project has me lost!
It isn't about the titles, although I love our goals. I LOVE spending time with my dogs and working together. It is my passion and I know my dogs have no regrets about all our shared time!
So, Aoife and are are trying hard to be better at heeling and our fronts and finishes being more consistently straight.
Our time working together will not stop.

Geo qualified in Rally Novice this morning with a 99 HIC score for his RN title. In the afternoon he Qualified for a 2nd place (tied first place but slower) with a 98.

Aoife entered morning trial for 'just because' reasons and qualified in Master/Excellent/Advanced runs with scores of HIC99/99/100. We have been working on obedience, so she didn't forget too much and did well.

Proud of my toller 'kids'.

Maybe I will have energy for pics tomorrow !

Aoife was an amazing Obedience partner on her first OTCHX/MOTCH outing!
She Qualified 4/4 in the highest level -Utility - and picked up 18pts for her scores. 15pts are required towards Master Obedience Title from the top level Utility Class, so three extra points to carry forward to final.
2/5 required doubles (OTCHX) were achieved and two more dbl Qs were so close (silly scratching and bad timing for signal/cue with ring side noise - ummm, please watch ME!). So we have no worries about Open, at this time 4/15 required pts received.
Also, we acquired a High In Class from Utility which is also a requirement. There were some beautiful working dogs and a former #1 Top Obedience in Canada dog competing. Okay... even the best can have a bad round 😉?
All-in- all, Aoife was AMAZING! I never expected to come away with such a great a weekend. Made for a good trip despite all the bad travel weather home !
Thank you to Alberta Obedience Group for a great trial and all the competitors that praised our work and effort, it really made our days!

We have Rally coming up in a couple weeks (Geo hoping for first titles, Aoife for fun) and are then back to Obedience. Fingers-crossed!

Some big yard fun !

We started Obedience Scent Articles with Geo (just over twelve months of age) last week. He worked six in the pile today and did well. Tied down an extra today, so seven articles tomorrow! May be able to increase by two each day if all goes well. At this time we are working metal and wood only, but have two leather tied down. Will stay on these two mediums and see next week if we will introduce a scented leather. The dogs love this game. I have actually been a bit slow teaching to Geo. Usually start at seven months. That is okay. We have years to get ready for Utility :)
