Aoife & I travelled to PAKOC (Prince Albert, SK) on Sunday morning to participate in a couple Obedience Trials.
Aoife Qualified in all four classes entered. Her performance improved as day went along - so although morning trial did not give us any new achievements - the afternoon provided us with a squeaker 195/200 & 196.5/200 double pass towards the Grand Master Obedience Trial Championship Title. Eight doubles accomplished and ten doubles required under at least eight different judges. We can still repeat one double under a previous judge or receive under two different judges. Inching closer....
Aoife is so amazing, as she had an encounter with a furry being in the dark (turned out to be cat), came out with some bites and scratches, right before hitting the road. She was shaking her head in the morning as her ear bites were bothering her a little. Quite proud she muscled through to complete all exercises.

Whirlwind successful trip to Wheat City Kennel & Obedience Club in Brandon, MB.

Punch (Phinneas x Chara) finished his conformation Championship, at 16 months of age, on Saturday and on Sunday he took Best of Breed and went on to a 🎉Sporting Group 2🎉 finish for a total of five points towards his Grand Champion Title. Thank you to Judge Ann Felske-Jackman for the two-point win for Punch's CH and Judge Mike Jackman for the Best of Breed and Group Two wins for a total of five points towards Grand Champion, the follwing day!

Cott'n (Sneakers x Aoife) took Best of Breed/BOW/WB/BP on first day of showing for a three point win under Judge Donna Conod. Cott'n showed really well but the inner squirrel 🐿 was coming out more often as the weekend progressed and stacking nicely was for the birds and not the squirrels 😉 ! Cott'n just turned eight months of age. Love the Cott'n squirrel, just needs a bit of taming. A nice bunch of tollers in the ring, hard to believe five were puppies!

Punch and Cott'n both Q'ed twice in Rally Novice B, Punch taking High in Class on both days and Cott'n taking second place.

Punch is now 16 months and Cott'n is eight months, so we have more time to mature.

Again - thank you to Janet Dvernichuk for handling Punch in the ring and Yvonne Dyck for helping hold and ready to step in to help me if needed with a possible conflict for Janet.

Of course, all points & Qs will need to be confirmed by the CKC.

Aoife had a great weekend in the Obedience ring.
She was awarded two HITs and Highest Scoring SKOC member of all four trials.
Punch and Cott'n each rec'd two PCD Qualifying ribbons, their first time in an Obedience ring.
Very proud of these two young ones, they did some very nice work!

Cott'n stalking Punch. This occurs about ten times a day.
Other dogs got all excited thinking the young ones spotted a cat. I accidentally stopped video but seconds later captured the follow up to attack that will be posted shortly.

Punch, aka Manitou Middle Bird At Featherz JH WC (Phinneas x Chara), recieved 3 BOW and a BOB in his four shows this weekend. He now has 8pts towards his CH.

Thank you so very much to Punch"s newest friend, Janet Dvernichuk, for helping me out by handling Punch, as I had two class tollers. What wonderful comments Punch received from the judge (M. Jackman) yesterday, as he stated it was a difficult decision between two very nice male tollers - Punch and the Specials toller. The Specials male took BOB and went on to take a Group 2 placement!

Cott'n, aka Featherz Rott'n Cott'n (Sneakers x Aoife) and I took two 1pt WB (4 BOS) awards for her first two points - as she did have female puppy competition in two of the four shows.

Aoife Q'd in 3/4 Obedience classes, with 'meh' ;) scores due to a couple no sits & no fronts but also did give me some really nice work, so hopefully we will get it together again,!

Featherz NSDTRs is thrilled that Aoife received her 5th Master Hunt Pass today to receive her MH Title in Manitoba today.
We missed five local tests due to Aoife being in season and were a bit pouty about all the time training wasted....so we made the extra long drive and it was nice to see many friends again!

Punch and Mark received two Junior Hunt Qs at the Brandon Retriever Club this past weekend.
Good boys! Extra birthday cake for Punch!

Aoife and Shelly received a Master Hunt Q on three very challenging series in their Monday test.

19 dogs started and we were one of only two teams that qualified.

Some of the other dogs' challenges in these tests played out to the benefit of Aoife's strengths. She was in her happy place among the flying ducks and 'screaming teals'!

We also enjoyed judging a day of Junior and Senior dogs.
