Some pictures from today’s trek with Chip. We had a fun few gallop stretches and climbed some hills. He is starting to get his buckskin back! 🤩

Chief blew me away today! He shines out away from the town and people. Through washes, bush, drops, and ravines he was as steady as ever… and then at the end of our 12 mile ride, I decided I wanted to power up this hill. Not realizing it was loose shale type rock, super steep and straight up… I wasn’t sure we’d make it once we started, but Chief powered right up without an ounce of hesitation! This guy is the real deal!!

Chip passed his vet exam with flying colors this morning! The vetting form is available to buyers to view, as well as one x-ray view of his RF for anyone concerned about the blemish on his foot. We also recorded his flexion tests.
The vet had zero concerns about his long-term soundness and health.

Meet “Chief;” a sweet, gentle guy in a flashy bay pinto package. He is a 14.2hh 2018 draft cross gelding.

He’s not only sweet, he 𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙙𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙨! Western or english, ba****ck or saddled, Chief is always up for whatever you ask.

Chief is fun in the arena, with basic buttons including a sidepass, rollbacks and leg yields. While not the fanciest mount, he’s honest and tries hard for his rider, going only the gait asked, with a smooth jog and rocking-chair lope.

On trails, Chief has a variety of experience. He has seen mountains in Alberta and the desert of Arizona. He’s safe amongst traffic, and rides out alone or with others! He’s been used in strings in the mountains and also been lightly packed.

In the arena, Chief will try anything you like. He is exposed to a variety of obstacles including tarps, balls, poles, and more. He is also willing to pop over some low jumps.

Finally, Chief shines in front of the cart; he is so fun to drive, with a laid back and polite manner.

He has good manners and is easy to catch, load, tie, trim, shoe, clip, and more. He’ll even slide up to the mounting block for you to get on. He does not require any maintenance and has absolutely no buck, bolt, or rear whatsoever.

Chief is thick and wide (1300 lbs) with a size 1 foot, wearing a size 34” cinch, and takes up leg like nobody’s business, meaning he would suit almost any size rider.

Chief would suit any level of rider in the arena, or any level of confident rider on trails — he would also make a great youth or 4H horse. With more finishing, he could make a low-level all around show horse. He is smart and picks up on things very fast if you wish to make him fancy, but can be enjoyed as is.
