🌟 Exciting Changes at Birch Bay Ranch! 🌟

To our wonderful community of riders and supporters, we are thrilled to share some exciting news about the evolution of our equestrian program here at Birch Bay Ranch.

In the past we had the Birch Bay Ranch Drill Team which has been a place where passionate riders came together to develop their horsemanship skills, working in harmony with their horses to master the art of Western Drill. It has been an incredible journey, filled with the precision of riding to music, the challenge of synchronizing with fellow riders, and the joy of seeing our skills culminate in beautiful, choreographed patterns. The memories we’ve created and the bonds we’ve formed are ones we will cherish forever.

As we look to the future and reflect on the mission of Birch Bay Ranch, we believe it’s time for a new chapter—one that aligns even more closely with our values and the spirit of our community. We are excited to announce that the Drill Team program will be transitioning into something truly special: The Equine Bridge Bible Study Group.

The Equine Bridge is more than just a riding program; it’s a place where faith and horsemanship meet. This unique program will allow riders to explore their spiritual journey while continuing to develop the strong horsemanship skills that have always been at the heart of our programs. Guided by our dedicated horsemanship coordinators and leadership, participants will delve into Bible study sessions that focus on themes such as trust, patience, and the deep connection between horse and rider—all while experiencing the peace and presence of God’s creation.

Why the Change? At Birch Bay Ranch, we believe in creating opportunities that nurture both the mind and soul. The transition from a drill team to a Bible study group reflects our commitment to offering programs that resonate with our mission to inspire and uplift our community. By blending the physical discipline of horsemanship with spiritual growth, we aim to provide a holistic experience that enriches the lives of our participants in profound ways.

We understand that this change may come as a surprise to some, especially those who have been dedicated members of the Drill Team. However, we are confident that the Equine Bridge Bible Study will offer new and rewarding experiences. Whether you are deepening your faith, seeking fellowship, or looking to connect more meaningfully with your horse, this program is designed to support your journey.

What’s Next? For those who were part of the Drill Team, we warmly invite you to join us in this new venture. The skills and camaraderie we’ve built will be carried forward into the Equine Bridge Bible Study, where we’ll continue to grow together in both horsemanship and faith.

Birch Bay Ranch Drill Team is excited about their 2nd season running. They are preparing for shows in different areas of Alberta for April & May. The cost of attending these demonstrations start to add up on costs, so the team has lined up some fundraisers to help with those expenses.

On January 15th Birch Bay Ranch is hosting Equi-Health Canada's Equine Health & Emergency First Aid Training as a fundraiser!
This is a must have course for anyone who rides horses, works with horses and owns horses. Full-Day of training with lots of hands on practice to ensure that you are comfortable with the skills you are learning. First Aid Training does not replace your veterinarians, but it can save your horses life as you are their first responder. With the growing demand on our veterinarians there is no better time to get this education so that you are prepared should you ever find yourself in an equine medical emergency.
The Course Topics include: Vitals, Pain Detection, Bleeding Wounds, Puncture Wounds, Eye Injuries, Colic & Digestive Emergencies, Hypothermia & Frost Bite, Hyperthermia & Heat Stroke, Collapse, Hoof Injuries and Disease, and so much more.
