In honour of what would have been Betty White's 103rd birthday on January 17th, Simcoe and District Humane Society is offering an added bonus to anyone who adopts a cat with white fur or white markings between now and the 17th:
Adopters will receive a free litter pan and litter scoop with their new feline friend!

Visit simcoedhumane.ca under ADOPTABLE PETS to view some of the animals currently in care or drop by the shelter at 24 Grigg Drive in Simcoe between 11am and 3pm (closed Wednesdays and Sundays). We also have lots of furry friends in foster care to meet!

Whether you’re looking to adopt or not, you can still take part in the by donating to help us help the animals. Etransfers can be made to [email protected] or donate via PayPal on our website. Tax receipts are available for donations over $20, if one is desired please indicate that in the memos; and include your name, address, and phone numbers.

Donations can also be made in person at the shelter, and we are always accepting donations of food, bedding, beds, non clumping litter, paper towel, cleaning supplies and other items we use daily for shelter use, as well as for the Pet Food Bank.

We are looking to plan our annual Spayghetti and No Balls Dinner.
Before we lock in a date/location and begin planning we need to lock in our volunteers in order to ensure we can manage the event.

We will need:

6 people to assist Cathie in the kitchen.
MUST BE able to lift heavy pots of hot water to drain noodles. They need to stay for service and cleanup.

6 to set up tables before the event, help serve people, and clean up plates, tables etc after the event.

We will also need 2 people to man the Silent Auction table.

Please comment below if you would be able to help, and include in your comment any dates in February or early March that you WOULD NOT be available.

Guess who is back, just visiting this time? Yep, it's Buddie, 11 months old and up to date with everything!

Originally adopted from SimcoeDHumane when he was much younger, Buddie's owner is unable to look after him right now, he had a stroke just before Christmas.

He could use some manner training, as he is loved by his owner just the way he is. Walking on a leash? Well it's hard for him to contain his excitement!

We have had him at the leash free park and he was put in his place for not having manners, jumping and the puppy rest. He was great with the other dogs.

If you have temporary room in your home and would like to look after a rambunctious, loving puppy while dad heals, please contact [email protected] or contact 5194289161 press 1 or 5194282287 and leave a message.

We need your help! Please dont let this boy sit in a kennel for another day!!

Meet Bruno, a 2-year-old Neutered Male. Bruno is NOT in SimcoeDHumane's care, but we have been asked to share his story and see if any of our followers would want to adopt OR foster until adopted.

Words from the shelter he is in:
His name is Bruno! He is the best dog with people that you could ask for and has shown no signs of aggression to people or towards/with food.

He LOVES car rides, toys and walks. He is a big boy that is now neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations.

One Health Issue ~ he tested Heartworm Positive and is receiving slow kill treatment for heartworm disease. The shelter will cover his medications (monthly advantage multi) until heartworm negative.

There is one behaviour issue ~ he can be very reactive to selective dogs. He would best be suited in a home with no other pets, which is making his transfer to another shelter/rescue difficult!

If you are interested, please contact [email protected] or leave your contact information 519-428-2287 and we will forward to the original Shelter.
