Volunteers have a seriously busy Holiday Season ahead of them ... rescuing orphans, injured, abandoned, heading out on emergency calls, preparing animals for adoption, driving to adoption venues, and trying EVERYDAY to raise funds to support our cause!

It's true, we're broke, there's no more money in the coffers, and even when we express that to people who call in for help they don't care ... they just want help.

All shelters are suffering right now as donations and fundraising dollars are way down and cost of care is way up ... sadly, we just have to worry about SimcoeDHumane ... and worry is an everyday word.

We will help the animals, we have only slowed down until we recoup.

Along with the rescue and vet visits, we are out everyday, selling tickets, preparing for Santa Photos and other events. We don't always expect your $ for nothing, we usually try to give you something for your donation ... as well as your tax receipt.

Please we need your help! Sell tickets to our 2 draws this holiday, place a poster on your store front promoting ALL of our events, Match donations, volunteer, foster and Adopt!

We can't do it without the support of our Village!

Adoptions are so exciting and why we do this work ~ the rewards are unending!!
Happy Tails to all who adopted this weekend!

We are thankful for the adoptions as they make room for the new animals.
$ however, is so short.

While some volunteers were at the adoption event, others were manning the shelter, or manning the phones behind the scenes. As 1 gets adopted 2or3 are ready to take their place.

Yesterday's calls included a stray who was sitting on someone's porch, an older cat that the family can't keep, 3 orphans in serious conditions (they came in with an adult that was thought to be the mom ~ not)

We lost one of the orphans shortly after intake from hypothermia and malnutrition. 5-7 day old neonates should weigh in about 265-300 grams. these babies were 100grams or less.

Today's call finds a young black cat with serious injuries, needing emergent care. We want to help, we want to help them all, but finances are limited! Credit cards are maxxed, pockets are empty, bank accounts are scary low.

Please donate today to help these pets coming into our care over the weekend.
